We had the “traditional plate for two” for lunch. Everything was first class. The Bolani was the best I’ve had in Sydney. Look forward to trying some of the other items on the menu. The atmosphere is very relaxing and allows you to watch the world go by. The decor is very beautifully done.
Overall, the food was very good, and the interior decor was also beautiful, it reminded me of Kashgar in Xinjiang. The staff were very polite and friendly, and the servers were lovely as well. The chicken in the Tasty Plate was grilled perfectly and very tender, and the lamb was also quite good. The scallion pancake was decent and fairly standard. The lamb in the lamb skewer, however, wasn’t as good as the lamb skewers we’re used to in Xinjiang, it would be even better if there were a better balance of lean and fatty meat. That said, the naan bread was delicious. The saffron ice cream was very unique and tasted great. We really enjoyed it.
The food is amazing at Bamyan. Loved the Kebabs and Mantu with some chai. The owner and staff are very friendly. Loved to see this place in areas like crows nest. Never thought there would be an Afghan Resturant in this area. They have variety of Afghan dishes and Pakistani dishes as well. There is alot of options of Biryani and Rices. They are also keeping alive the memory of Cameleers who came from Afghanistan and Baluchistan mainly around 180 years ago. It’s something people don’t know much about. One of the first non White people who came to Ocenia before Australia was even a Country. They came here faced racism but still worked hard in the outback in the hot dessert. Helped to Build the first railway. And one of them named Kamran Discovered Uluṟu along a British and an Aboriginal. The picture of Sharbat Gulle represents the beauty of Afghans and the problems women face in the region. A strong message of Resistance.
Craved for an authentic kabuli pulao, and this place delivered it with so much passion. Everything was simply delicious. From their borani bainjan to their camel meat kebab, which was a first time for me but it was so good. Absolutely loved the vibe and our server Puzen was such a delight. Finally found a place where afghan food served at its best!
As someone from Afghanistan, I can say this was one of the best Afghan meals I’ve ever had. I ordered the mixed grill and each piece of kebab was perfectly marinated and just melted in your mouth. I sometimes feel a bit heavy after eating that much meat but this was not the case. I also got the banjan boranee (eggplant) which was just like you would have at an Afghan person’s house. Unfortunately I don’t live in Sydney but I would visit this restaurant again and again. Bonus points for supporting girls education in Afghanistan!!
