This was fantastic!! Every dish was great. We got 3 Bao - crisp chicken, pork with crackling and soft shell crab - all excellent. The Bao are so very soft. The onion noodles are reminiscent of an upscale Mee Goren so well done. The Burrata and chicken are also 👌. Service clean and prompt. Vibe is good for a casual date or low key gathering.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Belly Bao for years, and it’s still one of my favourite spots in Newtown. I absolutely love their food, especially the generous, big baos packed with delicious fillings. My brother and I have been coming here for years, even before I moved abroad. Every time we visit, it feels so welcoming—almost like coming home. The staff are all amazing, and the owner is incredibly sweet. She always looks after us and treats us like family, which makes the experience even more special. Our favourite dish is the braised pork belly bao, followed closely by the crispy crackling pork belly. The bao burger was absolutely delicious! The honey orange chicken was a hit! I also love the chewy handmade bao noodles with the spicy sauce—oh my, they’re so good! I 100% recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t yet. It’s definitely one of the best restaurants in Newtown.

Hoki Bao was very fresh, the fries had an interesting sweet spice on them and the man serving me was kind + quick. Lovely early 00's tunes on the speakers and the candlelight made the ambiance so warm and lovely. Good price too. 10/10

Super cute restaurant with a smart way of ordering. The bao buns are a must try, specifically the tofu and crispy chicken (was kinda giving zinger burger but the chicken was cooked so well it felt high end 🙈). The papaya salad was super refreshing and the sesame cracker thing that came with it was really crispy! Good selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Atmosphere was lovely and lots of small details in furniture and decor 💕

Soft shell crab bao was so good! It was perfect for a quick bite. The staff was amazing to seat us even if we didn’t have any reservation.
