We had late dinner at Food Quarter and was pleasantly surprised by the generosity of the dishes. Large servings of very satisfying food to appease any appetite. They have $12.80 weekly specials of which we ordered the lemongrass grilled pork chop with rice, penang prawn laksa and spaghetti bolognese. Roast Of The Day was only $16.80. Great value for good quality food Would I come back? Definitely for the best value meals at the Star casino complex and tasty weekly specials.
I've been dining here for the past 8 years or so. I'd say the food has slightly declined in quality compared to 2023. Their daily specials used to be excellent value but to save on food costs, they have been cutting corners here and there, like reducing the amount of meat you get in a noodle dish or using cheaper cuts of beef in steaks. The range of items on the menu have also been reduced slightly and the cake / desserts have also seen a similar reduction in range and quality (along with a slight price increase, recently from $8.90 to $9.50 for a slice of cake) Some of the food is still very good but if you're unlucky you might get something that is either overcooked or you get a bad batch of pork or beef that is all fat / bone with no meat. The food comes out fast and the service is generally efficient. There has only been a couple of times where the food I ordered never came or was very late.
April 29th 2026 had the Angus strip loin. got it medium, I can tell you, it was juicy and tasty and had a little bit of char grilled fat that was bursting with flavour. As for the steak size, I think just right, As for sides: the chips were crunchy and flavoursome, and a generous helping to dip your gravy in. and the salad was very nice, fresh and zesty yet not overpowering, with plenty of Greenery and cherry tomatoes the gravy was nice however could have done with a little bit more. highly recommended and not overly priced at $34
In my opinion, chicken isn’t the best choice for tom yum—I’m pretty sure I regretted it after trying it! The chicken breast was also quite dry, making it tough to chew and swallow. I decided to try roast chicken and roast pork from Asian Roast Kitchen. Even though it wasn’t the best, it was still more enjoyable than the chicken tom yum.
The 1st laksa that I dont need to add lemon nor vinegar to it. The soup is just so right, that I wanna take away to eat with plain bread. YUMMMMM. And $12.9 ?? This is the best that I never expect. 👍👍👍
