Casual family run Korean restaurant with great potion sizes and decent tasting menu. The service was pretty friendly and there were relatively decent service speeds. In spite of some small flaws, I’m gonna give this place 5/5 because their serving sizes are huge; easily enough to share between two people. Insane value for money - prices are pretty standard too. Notes about the food: Sweet and spicy sauce fried chicken - was not too spicy actually. Really nice flavour of savouriness and some sweetness. Slight sour as well. Very crunchy texture . Might be on the drier/tougher side inside due to the cooking style and cut size, but that is the way it is supposed to be. Mapa Tofu with rice - again the flavouring is there, a bit oily though. Huge servings, tofu and meat pieces galore. Decent amount of veggies giving that vibrant colour. Black bean noodles were solid; standard flavours there. Not sure what the difference is between the regular ones and the stir fried ones ($5 extra for the stir fried version, though I couldn’t taste the difference). Beef brisket spicy noodle soup - as the name suggests, a simple meal, not super spicy, decent amount of meat and plenty of noodles and veggies again. Chive meat fried rice was an interesting take on fried rice - good flavour and aroma. Suggestion: if you are eating with 4-5 people, consider getting the food sets to discount some $$.
I ate jajangmyeon with a fried dish on the side, and honestly it was really satisfying. The jajangmyeon sauce was thick and rich, not watery at all, and it had that deep savory-sweet flavor that makes you want to keep eating even when you’re full. The onions were soft and well cooked, and the noodles were nicely coated with the sauce. The fried dish was crispy on the outside and juicy inside, and I liked that it was served on fresh lettuce with lots of green onions and peppers. It didn’t feel too greasy, and the fresh toppings balanced the fried taste really well. The pickled radish and onion were refreshing and helped cleanse my palate between bites. Also their spicy fried rice dish was good. Overall, it was a comforting and filling meal. Not too heavy, not bland, just really good Korean-Chinese food that hits the spot when you’re hungry.
Great black bean sauce noodle (jajangmyeol), I found the fried chicken great but my husband preferred it crispier. The price for set was amazing, we were so full and took left over home. Pretty good price compared to others.
Great Korean and Chinese fusion food. Place was homely and warm. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Had the Veg fried rice, black bean noodles and sweet and sour pork. The veg fried rice was perfectly cooked and not too oily. The black bean sauce with meat was exceptional and addicting. The sweet sour pork was cooked perfectly, crispy, not soggy and was not too spicy.
The BEST Korean-Chinese restaurant in Sydney. The jjajjangmyeon was so rich (and not watery!), the chapssal tangsooyook was crispy and chewy, and even the fried rice was great (they even gave a small bowl of jjambbong soup). Really reminded me of Korea! 시드니 중화요리 1티어 10/10
