I’m pretty picky when it comes to laksa. We’ve been lucky—many places in Sydney offer it—and I usually have my go-to spot. But Law’s Laska Bar will be in my top three choices whenever I’m craving a really good laksa. The first spoonful of broth is always a pass for me. Today we tried the Laksa Special and the Seafood Laksa. It had a great balance and a perfect portion size. Also, their sambal is quite different from others—it’s much richer and thicker. For my taste, I’d just like it a bit more spicy, but overall it was fantastic. If you’re a laksa fan like me, definitely give it a try. After spending over 5 years in Singapore, I've been on a quest to find an authentic Singapore-style laksa here in Sydney. The challenge lies in finding one that truly captures the essence, as most places tend to serve the Malaysian version, which lacks the depth of flavor - particularly the sambal. Last week, on a chilly day, I set out to try a newly opened spot, but unfortunately, they were sold out. Determined not to miss out again, I returned early today, and it was well worth the effort. Their laksa is a game-changer - rich, homemade, and authentic. Kudos to the team for getting it right, from the delicious coconut broth and sambal to the succulent prawns, homemade wontons, and perfectly balanced with some greens and holy basil!! If your planning to visit them. You would look for directions to Soi 25 Thai restaurant & the boys are located down the right.

A must if you are a curry laksa fan. It’s excellent laksa very similar to the best in Malaysia. We had the special and it was worth every cent. Very authentic soup with lots of fresh ingredients. Do support these guys as they deserve it. Now just waiting for the Hainanese chicken to come to the menu. If it’s as good as the laksa, this bar is going to be incredibly successful. A great addition for the Pyrmont food scene. Highly recommended

SOUP-er DELICIOUS! We went during their soft launch and we’ll definitely be back. They’re located in a nice little private pocket in Pyrmont with enough outdoor tables and chairs to eat at because a lot of people were ordering takeaway. The shop is trendy and relaxed, with a few staff working so it feels very homely. What about the laksa, you ask? *chefs kiss* The broth’s consistency was not too heavy and it has just the right amount of spicy. My partner usually has to add sambal, but he found he didn’t need to, meanwhile I don’t usually like it spicy, but I found the spicyness perfect for it. We also tried a few seafood tempura pieces heating in the glass display by the register - they were amazing. We had the wonton laksa which was delicious. Next time we’ll try Law’s Special and the Chicken Laksa. Thanks Law’s Laksa Bar for a delicious meal. SOUP-erb work!

Laksa is pretty solid here. It is sweeter and coconutty and topped with laksa leaf like a Singaporean style. But the house made laksa paste and the additional sambal share their chilli oil slick of a Malaysian style. If you're after a fiery kick and funk from the rempeh style this might not be for you right now, I hope they ramp up the chilli a little or as they evolve that they expand on the chilli options perhaps so as to cater for a wider range of spice levels. But I happily finished the bowl and will come back when hainan chicken comes into their menu to try again. There's also some limited snacks (curry puff etc) and the menu promises to grow slon. This is good for diversity of food in the Pyrmont area and am looking forward to see them settle in and grow.
