My dining experience at Granville Diggers was genuinely warm and satisfying overall. This place feels more than just a restaurant. It carries a strong sense of community, familiarity, and human connection. From the moment we were seated, the staff were polite, calm, and respectful, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a comfortable pace. The food reflects a solid understanding of traditional Chinese style cooking. The steamed whole fish was cooked properly, with tender flesh and a familiar, comforting balance of sauce and aromatics. The roast pork had a lightly crisp exterior with rich aroma, while still maintaining good texture. Other dishes such as seafood, stir fries, and braised items were generously portioned and clearly designed for sharing, making them ideal for families and groups. What I appreciated most is that the food here does not try to be flashy. Instead, it focuses on consistency, comfort, and flavors that people can return to again and again. You can feel that the kitchen values reliability and care, which is not always easy to find nowadays. I have given four stars rather than five because a few dishes could benefit from more refined seasoning and depth. With slightly better balance in flavor layers, the overall experience could reach an even higher level. That said, this does not take away from the positive impression and simply leaves room for growth. Overall, Granville Diggers is a place worth supporting and revisiting. Thank you for providing a meal that feels honest, comforting, and thoughtfully prepared.

We enjoyed our yum cha lunch here — reasonable prices, great service from the trolley ladies, and generous portions. The ambience is a little dated, but overall we had a fun and pleasant experience.

Worst experience ever! Been to this restaurant twice - once for dim sum and once for dinner - and the service was terrible both times. Orders took forever, and the staff clearly prioritized tables speaking Cantonese or English. If you speak Mandarin, good luck getting any attention. Never coming back!

Ate at the Chinese restaurant, they offer yum cha which has a good selection of things plus some other things such as a prawn wrapped in fried dough wrapped in rice noodle roll, that was a stand out. Also went to have a Chinese dinner here, they offer a set menu where you select from a list of 8 options, if you get two sets then they give you a free live steamed barramundi fish, if you order 4 sets then you can instead get a Murray cod. Make sure you check if they have the Murray cod though as if it’s not available then you’ll get the Barra instead. Quite good, can tell the chef is very skilled with the ingredients, will come back

New Year’s ordered “poon choi” was supposed to bring happiness, but it only caused frustration. I placed the order 5 days in advance. When I ordered, they said it could be picked up after 2pm. But when I arrived, a group of aunties there told us they were taking a break and asked us to come back after 5pm. On New Year’s Eve, who has time to go back and forth like that? Everyone is busy preparing. Very disappointing experience.
