The layout felt a bit disorganized, and there wasn’t a clear reception area. When I walked in with my friend, we ended up just standing there while several staff members looked at us but didn’t acknowledge us, until someone finally decided to greet us. The staff could have proactively hone through the menu with us and letting us know what the soup of the day was, rather than making customers ask for it themselves. The food was decent overall. The pasta was well-flavoured and the portion size was reasonable. The beef cheeks were extremely rich and tender, though the chicken portion was a bit small.

The food was amazing and the service impeccable. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting, with great views of the opera house. we ordered the basque cheesecake, panzanella and vanella salads, braised beef cheeks, seashell pasta, john dory and smoked pork sausage. the basque cheesecake, beef cheeks and seashell pasta are a must try! the drinks were also unique and refreshing definitely coming back for more quality food and quality service 👌🏻

The living room's lovely windows and classic styling, create a comfortable and inviting space, not to mention some of the best views of Sydney harbour and Opera house day or night. With frequent cruise ships located nearby, its an awesome location to enjoy a meal in air conditioning comfort, while people watching and having a drink and tasty meal. Both our meals were heartily enjoyed. Mine the perfectly size vodka pasta and a few drinks 🍸 was a great way to commence our stay.

In summary, The Dining Room doesn’t seem to be serving food to woe diners back. It seems to be serving hotel guests who aren’t looking to explore outside the hotel or people looking for a fancy setting of a Park Hyatt hotel. There is much room to improve at this place. The setting is lovely. The oysters were actually dangerously bad. Food odour and taste, room temperature, sad looming and simply Not fresh, room temperature . I did bring it to the waitresses attention and the kindly bought 1/2 dozen replacement. This place doesn’t have the right to charge $88 p doz if they can’t check for freshness before serving. The oysters were what I was looking for the most as they were outstanding PH Auckland. The ribeye didn’t have the flame grill flavour or fat rendering you would expect. French fries are on the menu but they served underwhelming fish and chip shop chops, just not as good as my local shop. Tuna crudo presented ok and ok flavours, just not exciting and not worth $40. Desserts were lovely, special Easter cake, chocolate cake and basque cheesecake. Unfortunately the waitress dropped steak into my wine glass whilst clearing the plate. I was offered a glass of choice from the menu. The Hickinbotham Trueman 2016 cab sav was excellent. We had such high hopes after visiting Park Hyatt Auckland Living Room. The chefs in Sydney should secretly dine at Auckland to get some ideas. There are quite a few elements needing uplifting to bring The Living Room at Sydney Park Hyatt up to the same standards of other similar prices dining experiences in Sydney.
