We came here just to grab a coffee for our river walk but the smell of the freshly baked pastries made me order a raspberry and macadamia danish. This is the freshest, most delicious danish I’ve had in my 7 years living in Australia. Flaky, buttery pastry with flavourful light cream and fresh raspberries. Amazing! We’ll be back!
Situated inside The Orchard with a kids playground and bathrooms, Bakery Brothers don't disappoint! The pulled lamb pie was faultless. Crispy pastry wrapped piping hot chunks of succulent meat to make a delicious meal. The pistachio croissant was equally pleasant. Fresh, crunchy pastry outside and soft, warm, buttery pastry inside. The pistachio licing was perfect, not too much and the right sweetness. The coffee is great, too! There's plenty of outdoor seating and water and treats for the dogs. I appreciated the clean and clear presentation of the food and preparation area. Service is friendly and easy-going. There's a 10% surcharge on weekends.
I really want to give this place a 5 star review because I can tell a lot of care is put into making the pastries and pies. However consistency in preparation is making it hard for me to give higher then a 3. The first time I got a ham and cheese croissant the ham was warm, cheese melted well and the croissant a nice golden brown. The ingredients are also high quality with a nice cheddar and real ham. The second time it was under toasted with the cheese only partially melted on the outside. The third time the croissant was burnt and inside cold. This is really disappointing as I know how good it can be. I have also had a lamb pie, which tasted great however the inside was very liquidy which made it difficult to eat. Similarly I get a Mocha, which tastes fine, however the syrup tends to pool at the bottom making the last mouthfuls very sweet and strong compared to the rest of the drink. Maybe a stir would help? I'll update this in the future if I notice things changing, however I think consistency is something that might need to be worked on as I can tell there is some great work put into ingredients and presentation that seems to be let down at the finish line.
Love the spot it is in on a sunny day. Been here 3 times now. First time I got a pie which was more of a soup and the inside poured out as soon as I took a bite. And when U say it was more of a soup I mean it was just liquid insid and had no structure. It did taste pretty good but was impossible to eat 2nd time I went at 930am and they had nothing to eat. Only doing coffee which was surprising as they are called bakery brothers not coffee compadres. 3rd time I went tbh I think they just weren't open yet when I went for spanians kebabs. Definitely potential here but I'm struggling to find a time where they actually have food and are open.
***UPDATE*** I went back and the owner definitely redeemed himself. The coffee was amazing and the service was on point. Thank you. I paid close to $7 for a coffee that i asked to be extra hot and was given to be luke warm at best. They are also using Coles brand milk. Disgusting! For that price point they should be using barista quality milk.
