Great atmosphere, genuinely lovely staff, good food, good drinks, and a nice big bar. Has pretty much everything you’d want - I’ll definitely be back. Brought my dog along with me as it was recommended and loved how dog-friendly this place is, staff were super helpful and brought out a bowl of water straight away. A few other dogs there also which was nice to see. Food was delicious; I had the fish pie and it really hit the spot. I's rate the Guinness too, plenty of people ordering it, so you know it’s a safe bet. I was there just after 5pm and it was already starting to get a nice buzz, with live music setting up.
The Nags Head has easily become my favourite pub in Sydney and hands down one of the best Sunday roasts I’ve ever had. Don’t bother reading the reviews just trust me and go try it for yourself - see pictures attached.
A historical pub that has managed to maintain it's character, relaxed seating at the bar or people watching out if the window. Street seating also just outside. The food is full of flavour and changes with the seaons. Try the Spice Bag once in your life.
I had the fried chicken burger for my lunch and it was delicious with just the right hint of spice. The portion size was generous, and the chips were great too. Chef Jane was absolutely lovely, and Ali behind the bar was super friendly—great service all around!
Recently went with a large group for the Christmas In July three course meal. All a bit chaotic to start, no one to greet or explain whether to pay downstairs or up where the function was to be held. Menu could have been enhanced by some Christmas food, turkey/ ham and the starter was pretty heavy considering the main was a full Lamb roast ( which was very tasty). The fact that the meal was advertised as a Christmas in July, perhaps the venue could have been slightly decorated with a nod to festivities. Some fairy lights and festive napkins are easy to add and not expensive and would have added greatly to the atmosphere.
