I enjoyed the Peking Duck pancakes out of everything that we ordered. The duck was cooked to perfection. I wasn’t fussed on the Sang Choy Bow. It was overly salty for my liking. It’s a bit inconvenient that I couldn’t just have Peking Duck Pancakes as I would’ve just preferred that on its own. Service was fast and approachable. The prices are affordable too, with the large portion sizes. I enjoyed the Hong Kong Milk Tea, though for me, it needed about three sugars 😅.
Visited Chatswood BBQ Kitchen and ordered the signature duck. The duck was decent, with crispy skin, but I found it quite oily and fatty, which made it a bit heavy to eat. The flavour was good enough, but not something I would specifically come back for. The biggest issue was the tea. It had a noticeable seafood smell, which was unexpected and affected the dining experience. It seemed like the teapot may not have been cleaned thoroughly, or perhaps it had absorbed odours from other dishes. the meal was okay, but a little more attention to food quality and cleanliness would make a big difference. The restaurant has potential, but this visit was just average for me.
Seating is pretty comfortable. Typical busy Chinese restaurant service. Two choice (soy chicken and roast pork) with rice was decent. The satay beef noodle was terrible. Beef was so tough and chewy, vegetables so tough (old) and noodles glooped together. Regret getting that dish. That said, I would be back to try other dishes.
Second time here. My must-go restaurant in Sydney now. Still delicious. Decent portions, friendly people. They don’t hold back on portions — I never leave without ta pao.
Stumbled upon this roast meat place in Chatswood. While it’s a little pricey, the roasted meats were outstanding—tender, juicy, and among the best I’ve ever tasted!
