For less than $30 on a weekday dinner that includes a good selections of seafood, soups and desserts. It’s great value for money. The food are mostly Chinese or Chinese fusion dishes. Some of the best dishes on the night for us are the clams, custard bun, soups and Chinese desserts. Staff there are very quick with cleaning the table so no worries about having finished plates on your table. Also plenty of seatings around so not much waiting time needed. However I do find their stacked clean plates and bowls are very wet from the dishwasher so do check before placing food on your plate. Otherwise, I would coming again with friends and family for a good value feast here.
They’re hot spot for cheap tourist groups mostly Chinese. They come & go like tsunami, loud & chaotic. There’s no queue nor route for anything. Traffics are “all directions”. Sauce doesn’t has label telling you which bottle is what! Labels for food trays are old therefore they’re almost unreadable. Food quality & taste is quite average, but given as the A$29 per head buffet, I would say they’re value for money. Sad to say they’re even a bit better than some Chinese restaurants I’ve been to with similar price tag. Prawn and Roasted Chicken are ok. Roasted Beef/Pork could skip. Long Black taste like coloured hot water. I’m sure they must got some other “good stuffs” but I guess the management just wish to keep them as gimmick ONLY. Eg I was told they got Steamed Meat Bun 小籠包, but they’re all gone every time I go out there to look for them … Service is reasonably friendly but gotta bear in mind staffs here had been working/running around like crazy. Bottom line : I wouldn’t mind to drop in for that price & stuff myself up occasionally. But even if I happened to be around I would rather try my luck with other options available in Ashfield. Would I drive 45 minutes in bad traffic for it, like I did today? NO !
The food here is hit and miss. I really enjoyed the spicy squid, coconut sago, seaweed salad. The fresh prawns were good too but the poop chute was left in and some had more poop than others. The cakes were dry and a little difficult to stomach. Otherwise, pretty good value at $33 per person for visitor on a Friday to Sunday dinner. Bit of a wait even if you book but that's due to the volume of people coming through.
I haven’t been here for many years. Came here during the week lunchtime with my parents. Awesome steam fish, drunken chicken feet, beef slices, fresh prawns and a nice variety of soups. I like the Ferrero Roche cake slice. There’re many dishes that I enjoyed. Very friendly staff members.
great value and variety. been coming here for many years. i dont know why people expect Michelin star food and service here for this price point. Doesnt include any soft drinks. Though let's be honest that would just bloat you into feeling full. Though i will say watch yourself on the ice-cream. The consistency of it does not mix well with all the food you've eaten. Probably a good idea to make a booking if more than 4 people. Bring ID since it is inside a RSL club.
