I had high hopes for breakfast at Savta, but unfortunately, the experience was a letdown across the board. The value for the price point is difficult to justify. Charging $4.50 for a standard Twinings tea bag feels like a significant markup for something you can easily make at home; at a cafe, you expect a higher quality loose-leaf or specialty tea. The main disappointment, however, was the food. I ordered the omelette, but what arrived bore little resemblance to a traditional one. Instead of being light and fluffy, it felt deep-fried and extremely dry, yet somehow managed to be simultaneously gooey and oily. It was a heavy, unappetizing dish that I couldn't finish. Between the overpriced tea and the poor execution of a breakfast staple, I won't be rushing back.
We were passing by and looking for a brunch spot when the dishes served on the terrace caught our eye. It turned out to be a great discovery — delicious food and very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Best cafe in bondi junction. The owner is incredibly nice and everything delicious. If you’re looking for more of a chill cafe go here !
FOOD: It was my first time trying shakshuka, and it was absolutely divine! The sauce was rich and flavorful, and the bread paired perfectly with it. My only small critique is that the bacon was a bit burnt. I also had an iced matcha, which was excellent — you can really taste the matcha. SERVICE: The staff were lovely and very accommodating. They even offered me extra sauce for my shakshuka, which I really appreciated. ATMOSPHERE: Nice, relaxed vibe with seating both inside and outside. Sitting outdoors was lovely with the trees and the breeze from the park — a perfect spot to enjoy a quiet meal.
Although it's in a quiet part of Bondi Junction and would have been a great brunch location, the food was a bit disappointing. Coffee was average. Food presentation was like something I would make at home and did not taste anything special.
