I had an amazing lunch here. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options which was great. Thr coffee, green smoothie, and green sandwich were delicious and the portion size was huge. The sweet potatoes fries are particularly memorable. I was very satisfied and wished I had room for their delectable desserts. I highly recommend this cafe for a drink, bite, and bit of respite.
The Missing Piece is a popular cafe with a bright and open atmosphere nestled in the eastern wing of Macquarie Centre near Uniqlo. Like many cafes, you can place your order via a QR code located on the table. For breakfast I ordered the chilli scrambled egg on toast. The on-line ordering system provides the option to leave a tip but is fraught with ambivalence as you don't know how your meal or experience will turn out. I took a gamble and decided to leave a 10% tip, something which I regret in hindsight. The meal itself turned out to be superb with fluffy scrambled egg with a tasty chilli crab flavour served on top of a well toasted bread slice and a side serve of broccolini, but as I waited for my meal and beverage to arrive, I noticed the adjacent table who placed their order later than me receiving their meal long before mine. My beverage (a simple pot of tea) took 12 minutes to arrive and was served by a humourless waitress, and my meal took 16 minutes. These are not long wait times, but considering the cafe was less than a quarter capacity and other tables were getting their orders comparatively sooner, ON TOP OF MY 10% TIP the overall experience was less than positive. If there's a lesson to be learned here, it is "avoid tipping in advance, as you don't know how your experience will play out".
Wow - standards have dropped sharply over the past 12 months. It’s all still very picturesque, but the only word that can be used to describe paying $25.90 for a dry chicken breast sandwich is “robbery”.
If you’re just stopping by for a beverage or a coffee break, this place isn’t a bad choice. However, the food didn’t meet our expectations. We waited about 20 minutes for the chicken burger, which was unfortunately very disappointing—the chicken was overcooked and extremely dry. The chips were also slightly burnt. Overall, the food quality was underwhelming. On a positive note, the service was good and the staff were friendly, which we appreciated.
We’ve been a frequent here at Missing Piece MQ Centre. The crab scallop prawn linguine is a must order in every meal. We also had Shakshuka this time. Amazing spices in the dishes. Looking forward to their limonada suíça in the upcoming drink menu refresh!!!
