⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Had an amazing dining experience at Tropicana! The Carbonara with prawn pasta was absolutely delicious, creamy, full of flavour, and the prawns were cooked perfectly. To finish, I had the tiramisu, and it was one of the best I’ve tasted, rich, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding. You can tell they take pride in what they do. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Tropicana to anyone looking for a fantastic meal. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
As you can see from reviews. I don’t EVER review. It is not in my heart to talk about a place because I know what it is like to work in this industry. But this is too horrible and I need to speak my mind. I am extremely upset with your cafe. It was Mother’s Day. All my wife wanted was a chicken salad she always used to order from your joint years ago and what a mistake!!!!. We ordered 3 large chicken salads which was her favourite. I ordered extra sauce and extra chicken. And guess what? We didn’t get either of that. My daughters chicken salad had a piece of plastic in it. I also ordered several desserts. You people forgot to give us 3 canelones! We only got 2!!! And most importantly, my wife ordered an orange cake which you also forgot to pack!!! This was all take-away- pick up so unfortunately I only noticed when I got home and my wife was very disappointed in Mother’s Day. What hurt the most was that I spent $183 on such rubbish produce, items, missing items and my daughter having a piece of plastic in her salad too!! Never again. Your place “USED TO”be good, once upon a time, but not its horrific now! Thank you for ruining dinner for us tonight. No wonder there was no-one in there tonight. And Thank you for making me pay for several items I didn’t even get. I guess it’s my bad for trusting that you put everything I PAID for in those bags.
OMG, I'm so late to the party! I just tried this spot in Darlinghurst, and I'm feeling like I've been living under a rock! This iconic spot has been around since 1980, and I've been walking past it forever, mesmerised by the vibes. Finally, curiosity got the best of me, and I'm so glad I stopped by! The menu is MASSIVE, and we went all out with cocktails, perfect for unwinding after a crazy day at work . My friend had never had a spicy margarita before (South American, hello? ), so I got to introduce her to a whole new world ! We pigged out on the pasta, calamari, and pizza (yes, we smashed them all, everything was delicious ). Super friendly service, too! Plus, it's a 5-minute walk from Kings Cross station, and no booking's needed. If you're a local or just visiting, add @tropicana_caffe to your list, asap. ~ Spicy Marg ~ Tommy's Marg ~ Calamari Fritti ~ AGLIO E OLIO ~ PASTA CON GAMBERI ~ MARGHERITA PIZZA
It's changed.. it's now more euro cafe and less street cafe.. Not a bad thing.just A noticeable change... Food was tasty with smaller portions of 'large pasta' on a bigger plate. Pity staff can't listen to order 'at order area' when it's not busy as we had to repeat our simple order twice and it was only two items Soup of the day was yesterdays on the board. At mid afternoon.. would have been much easier to change it instead of telling everybody that it's not what it says it is... Pet friendly but the dog water bowl was empty and inside.
Excellent open bistro Cafe. Arancini balls were the best Ive had. The mains were excellent and a fine selection of Italian pastries for afters or maybe just to accompany a lazy afternoon coffee.
