I used to think yum cha was something you only do on a slow weekend morning, but after getting tired of the usual lunch spots around work, my colleague and I decided to see if we could fit in a quick yum cha during our one-hour lunch break. Turns out, we could! It wasn’t too busy on a weekday lunch, and the service was quick enough for a lunch break. Tea is $3 per person. They also have different half-price dim sum specials on weekdays. The day we visited, the Beef Balls were on special for only $4.99, which was great value. I love beef balls with extra ingredients mixed in—they have a great texture and are really satisfying. The Pork & Century Egg Congee looked quite simple, but it ended up being my favourite dish. The congee was smooth, creamy, and tasted like it had been simmered for a long time. It was warm, comforting, and full of flavour. We also ordered the Spinach Prawn Dumplings. They were generously sized with thin, translucent wrappers and plenty of prawns inside. The chilli sauce served on the side was surprisingly delicious and paired really well with the dumplings. The Steamed Pork Ribs with Garlic were decent but didn’t stand out compared to the other dishes. The two of us ordered four dishes plus tea, and it came to around AUD $25 per person, which is great value for a weekday lunch. A nice option if you’re looking for a quick yum cha without spending your entire lunch break. A 1.5% card surcharge applies for card payments.
July-26. Quality of dimsum was good and tasty, with service that wasn't terrible. Value and pricing was ok as well. Overall, worth a return visit. A bit annoying they charge for extra chili sauce.
We ordered the chicken, spare ribs and duck tongues with one bowl of rice. The tastes were good. However, they charged us for tea when we didn't order any, and two bowls of rice when it was just one.
Fairly standard yum cha and definitely more on the affordable side. No complaints overall - good value for what you get.
Food is good, price is ok. They have roast goose which I appreciate.
