We had a wonderful experience at here. Our group included Chinese and international diners, as well as a vegan, and Jennifer was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu. She took the time to understand our needs and recommended dishes that suited everyone perfectly. Every dish we ordered was delicious. The Singapore-style barramundi had a pleasant sweet-and-sour flavour that was well balanced. The chicken tasted authentic and well cooked. Great food, attentive service, and very accommodating to different dietary preferences. W

Haymarket Kitchen is a fairly standard Chinese restaurant that serves classic home-style dishes at reasonable prices. The food is not overly fancy, but it is consistent and authentic enough to satisfy everyday cravings. The portion sizes are generous and the overall quality is decent for the price range in this area. The environment is simple and casual, making it a convenient spot for a quick meal with friends. What makes this place memorable for me, however, has less to do with the food and more to do with an unforgettable personal experience. A Chinese flatmate in my previous share house made a serious mistake and almost caused legal trouble within the house. In the end, he chose this restaurant as the location to apologize to everyone. Luckily, I had just moved in when things were already calming down, so I wasn’t affected by the situation—but I still joined the dinner. It was both awkward and hilarious to sit there while someone tried to fix their reputation over sweet and sour chicken. Because of this, Haymarket Kitchen will forever have a special place in my memory! Overall, if you’re looking for solid Chinese food without surprises, this is a reliable choice. The menu has plenty of options, the service is acceptable, and the location is convenient near public transport. It may not be the most extraordinary restaurant in Sydney, but it definitely left me with one of the most entertaining dining stories I’ve ever experienced.

Thank you Jennifer for your great service!! She catered for our friend's dietary requirements, by not adding onion and garlic, and providing the condiments separately. It was great value for money and the food was super tasty. 多謝Jennifer!

Had a takeaway chicken laksa for a quick lunch. Serving and packaging is good! But the taste is just bland. I was hungry but i cannot even finish 1/4 of it. It’s cheap tho, so thats a plus. I keep on seeing people there, so i guess their other food on the menu must be good.

Ordered Singapore Noodles with no prawns as I am allergic & Satay Chicken. The first bite was nice until I looked down to see what was under that first bite…see photo. Can’t have been an accident as it was just two prawn tails under the first layer of the noodles. These people are lucky I’m not anaphylactic & I only get a bit itchy or they would be in deep shit. If you have an allergy, don’t trust them.
