this place is giving cha chaan teng /bing sutt to the T!! felt like i was back in HK... especially with the quick service, huge menu, and retro decor. really homey and nostalgic HK food. i loved the twist on the typhoon shelter wings and the stirfried noodles were full of flavour and generously topped with seafood. its earned itself a mention on the top 10 chinese restaurants so you know its a solid spot in burwood!
I ordered the Pan fried Oyster Omelette for $26.80, expecting the appetizing dish shown in their online menu photos. What I actually received was completely unacceptable. Instead of a proper omelette, they served me what looked like a messy pile of burnt, deep-fried batter scraps. It literally looked and felt like leftover crumbs scooped out of a deep fryer, with absolutely no form or texture of an actual omelette. To make matters worse, while the promotional photo shows the dish generously covered in oysters, my plate had barely 4 or 5 tiny oysters lumped in the middle. Charging $26.80 for a plate of deep-fried debris is an absolute joke. I am attaching both the menu photo and what I actually got. Avoid this dish unless you want to pay a premium for burnt batter scraps.
Absolutely outstanding dining experience from start to finish. The highlight for me was the signature ice milk tea—perfectly balanced, rich yet refreshing, with a smooth creaminess that keeps you coming back for more. It’s easily one of the best I’ve had. The baked pork chop was another star. Tender, juicy, and beautifully seasoned, with a golden baked finish that added just the right amount of texture. Comfort food done right. What really elevated the meal, though, was the lady boss chilli oil. It’s bold, fragrant, and packs a satisfying kick without overpowering the dish. You can tell it’s made with care—it adds depth to everything it touches. And then there’s the pork rib claypot rice—absolutely phenomenal. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, and the rice had that perfect crispy layer at the bottom, soaking up all the rich, savory flavors. Every bite was deeply satisfying. Service was warm and attentive, and the overall atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. Highly recommended—this place truly delivers on flavor, quality, and experience. Will definitely be back!
This Hong Kong style café really feels like being in Hong Kong. The atmosphere is spot on and there are so many dishes to choose from. The milk tea, iced pineapple bun, lo mein, and curry beef brisket are all must-tries
Me and my friend like the food and atmosphere there so much. Recommend Hainan chicken Laksa! And their homemade chilli oil.
