I canβt believe weβve already been here 6 times in just one month π€£! The restaurant was taken over by a Hong Kong couple in 2025, renovated for three months, and officially reopened on 7 January 2026. The best value for money has to be their roasted duck π¦ β half a duck for only $21, such a bargain! The skin is fragrant and the meat is tender and juicy. At that price, you really canβt go wrong. On one visit, there were eight of us and someone ordered the sweet and sour pork π. I wasnβt expecting much, but it was surprisingly impressive! Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and the sauce wasnβt overly sweet. I usually donβt eat much of this dish, but I couldnβt stop myself from going back for more π€£. The crispy noodle with king prawns π¦ was another pleasant surprise. The prawns were big and bouncy, and the crispy noodles were fried to perfection. Once the rich gravy was poured over, it was so addictive that everyone kept eating non-stop. The Fujian fried rice and Yangzhou fried rice were fairly average β nothing particularly memorable. When I saw βking prawn wontons,β I thought it would be Hong Kongβstyle prawn wontons π¦, but it turned out the pork wontons and the prawns were served separately π . That was a little disappointing. The prawn toast wasnβt too oily, and the sesame flavour was really fragrant β definitely a plus. The beef brisket hot pot deserves a special mention π. The brisket was incredibly tender β probably pressure-cooked β and even the radish was braised until soft and full of flavour π. If you like vegetables, you can order the salted egg & century egg with your choice of greens π₯¬ β a nice lighter dish to balance the meal. My in-laws especially love the dry-fried green beans π₯’; once it hits the table, it disappears in no time πβ¦
Definitely a hidden local gem in Waitara and Hornsby area. The food is amazingly prepared and delivered by their friendly staff. Try their signature roasted duck, and you will understand why they are so popular during dinner time. Their 2- or 3-dish combo represents a nice price for high quality dishes.
Went to this local restaurant last Friday and I would say itβs the best meal we have had there. Quality of the food, especially the whole Duck and the stir fry vegetables, the best weβve had over the past few years. Salt n Pepper prawns also very good. It is also BYO which is always preferred. All in all a lovely meal mostly because of quality ingredients.
I have tried many chinese restaurants in Sydney and this is the best Chinese restaurant. Every dish I tried here is 10 out of 10. Roast duck is amazing. BBQ pork. Sweet and sour pork. Mapo tofu and 3 cup chicken are all extremely tasty. We travel 45 mins to have our chinese here. The old owners are super friendly and the food always come out fresh and fast. I hope the chef stays in business for long because we will be coming here for many more years.
I eat here frequently. Best Chinese restaurant not just in Waitara but in the whole Hornsby region. The roasted duck is especially good, pre-order highly recommended as it gets sold-out most of the days
