King Pot’s claypot rice really suits modern tastes. I especially enjoyed the chicken — they use chicken thigh instead of breast, making it tender and springy. The rice also had a nice crispy layer at the bottom, which was a highlight. Personally, I wasn’t a big fan of the spinach on top, but overall it worked well. Their rice noodle rolls are decent for a food court standard, and if you like congee, it’s worth giving a try.
Had claypot rice at Kingpot in Hornsby Westfield and left feeling very satisfied. We tried the Chinese pork sausage with black bean pork ribs and the Chinese pork sausage with mushroom and chicken. Both were tasty with a decent amount of protein in each pot. The portions were enough to fill us up, which was nice to see. Let’s hope that doesn’t change like how many other eateries are doing. Also, the crispy, crusty rice at the bottom of the claypot—so satisfying and always a favorite! Next time, I’ll probably try their cheung fun (rice noodles) and see how they are.
Delicious clay pot rice with crispy crust, aromatic flavors, and tender ingredients—a perfect balance of texture and taste in every bite!
Tried the King Prawn and Beef rice noodle rolls which were great. Located in Hornsby Westfield food court. Food took a while to come. But served in good quality take away boxes.
Good price and taste good food, very reasonable, the congee set price is fine. The fired oil stick is crispy, can be better if a bit bigger.Hope they will introduce more vegetarian dishes, or seafood dishes.
