Checked out Kowloon Cafe in Burwood recently. It is honestly such a cool spot if you are looking for that authentic Hong Kong retro diner vibe. The whole setup inside is amazing and they even have a mini Hong Kong bus in the dining area! The food is exactly what you want from a cha chaan teng—classic, comforting, and super flavourful. It is a straightforward and fun place to grab a hearty meal with friends. Definitely worth a visit if you are craving some proper Hong Kong style food.
I came here because my friend told me the roast pork here was pretty good. I also ordered the wonton noodles as I was still looking for a good bowl in Sydney. The bbq platter was ok, roast pork was the standout from here. The duck was a bit mediocre and the char siu was ok. The wonton soup was good, the broth had a deep flavour maybe something seafoody, and there were so many wontons. Park inside emerald plaza can get additional free parking for eating here, or park in burwood plaza
Ordered fish ball noodle . Average , fish ball not so fresh and bouncy . Will try other dishes next time Service : good You can order from QR code but the older female staff was kind and enough to check in if i knew how to use . Thank you
I had such an amazing experience here!!The food was absolutely delicious and felt so authentic! The red bean one was rich and creamy, the pineapple ice was super refreshing with lots of fruit pieces, and the salty lemon lemonade was surprisingly good — sweet, sour, and fizzy all at once! Every dish was full of flavor — the toast was golden and crispy with a generous amount of peanut butter and condensed milk (so good I finished it all 🤭). The satay beef in clay pot came bubbling hot, super fragrant and satisfying. The BBQ platter was juicy — especially the roast duck, my favorite! The staff were so friendly and even gave us complimentary marinated duck wings to try 🥹The retro Hong Kong décor and bus-style setup made the whole dining experience extra special. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!
Very yummy food, would go back again to try other things in the menu especially the rice meals with different meats. Would recommend the rice platter with different meats, however the egg noodles with beef and gravy was a small serving.
