😍✨Authentic Hunan cuisine done right here! bold, smoky, chilli-forward flavours. 🐟🌶️The sea bass in hot chilli oil had a beautifully sour-spicy broth with fish that melted, but the beef tripe stir-fry with pickled radish was the real standout. Generous portions and 100+ menu options mean there's something for every spice tolerance. 🧧Currently running a 10th anniversary deal 100% of your bill back in vouchers. Highly recommend!
Really enjoyed our meal at 小湖南! The food was full of flavour and had that proper Hunan-style kick 🌶️. The stir-fried beef was tender and super fragrant, and the pickled chilli lotus root was crunchy, tangy and really addictive. We also loved the century egg with smashed chilli — you get to mash it yourself at the table, which made it extra fun.
This is my favorite Hunan restaurant in Sydney !The food is perfectly balanced and the spice never overwhelms the dishes, instead it enhances the natural flavors and makes every dish stand out in its own way with a unique character. Nothing feels overly spicy just for the sake of it, everything is well thought out and flavorful. If you really love chili and enjoy authentic spicy food, you will definitely love this place and keep coming back for more.
Visited early afternoon in the weekend and the restaurant has plenty of empty seats. When we sit down at the first table, there was a cockroach on the wall crawling down - not the best start. The food in general is fine, the seasoning and spicy level is not bad. It’s pity that many details are overlooked - the pickles on stinky tofu is cold maybe just from fridge. The beef tribe has a huge cut in the plate. The stirred fried noodles is too oily.
Came here for Saturday lunch, at the time we were the only group dining in but a few more people came after The food was pretty nice - my favourite were the chilli popcorn chicken and the eggplant with green beans. The food came out pretty quick and you order via the QR code. There's a 5% cash discount too The only unfortunate thing is we ordered the bucket of rice but it only came at the end when we'd almost finished everything after we had to remind the staff that we haven't received it yet. Overall our.dining experience was $19.5 per person which I think is good value.
