A beautifully designed space with two curtained off areas for private dining. Located next to Coles on Level 1. When making a reservation I specifically asked if they had live fish in a tank. We ordered steamed barramundi, usually fish that is cooked immediately will have a texture where the meat will be firm and flake off in pieces. The fish we received was soft and mushy in certain areas, a classic sign this is frozen fish. - steamed barramundi from the tank (1/10) For a true Cantonese seafood restaurant the fish will be brought to your table alive, this step was missing. When we arrived the tank had 1 fish. When we left the tank still had one fish and when we observed further this fish does not move! It's just part of the decoration. Truly disappointing experience. I recommend Eastwood Seafood Restaurant for their steamed barramundi, they also may not present the live fish but you can tell they really prepare using live fish / Oceanic Taste in Rhodes / Phoenix in Rhodes - sweet and sour pork with lychee (10/10) This was the best out of all dishes. Nice quality pork that was not fatty. - seasonal veg with mushroom with garlic (3/10) Turned out to be bok choy with oyster mushroom. The bok choy not cleaned properly bits of black grime at the base, it's important to soak boy choy with bicard soda to adequately remove. Missing flavour, there was no noticeable garlic flavour and no wok hei. - Xiao long bao with pork and black truffle (3/10) This dish came out last and it was not steamed properly the top was still doughy. I could taste truffle oil. It was five pieces. - pippis with pan fried noodle in XO sauce (3/10) Pippi's didnt taste fresh, the portion was excellent but not much flavour at all or wok hei. Overall would not recommend or come back unless the criteria is to eat somewhere with beautiful decor. In terms of ambiance it's open seating so it can get noisy if they are upset children. Recommend you book the private area for large groups. We went on a Monday night so it's possible the Head chef was off. There were only 3 tables when we went in, a telling sign. A dissapointing experience food wise. It $60 a head for 4 adults.

I often bring my parents to this Cantonese restaurant — the food is really to their taste. The flavors are mild but delicious. I highly recommend the pork with chestnuts and the squirrel bass fillets — both go perfectly with rice! The environment is also very nice; the private rooms look elegant and are great for family gatherings.

Tried the new Hong Kong-style Peking duck at Lucky88 in Top Ryde and it was superb! The skin was perfectly crispy. We loved the two ways of eating it: the classic pancake roll and the refreshing lettuce wrap. Other highlights were the Salt & Pepper Double Crisp (so crunchy!) and the sizzling Mongolian Lamb which was incredibly tender and aromatic. The Sweet & Sour Pork with lychee was also a delight. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, great for groups and families. The service was friendly and we never felt rushed. A top choice for a reliable and delicious roast duck feast in Sydney! Highly recommend.

Tried Lucky88 in Top Ryde for a family dinner — great experience! Clean, spacious restaurant with private rooms, perfect for gatherings. Loved the roast duck set menu, crispy skin and rich flavor. Seafood soup was a hit with my parents. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

Absolutely loved this hidden gem in Top Ryde! The Lucky88 (formerly Diner88) offers authentic Cantonese flavors in a beautiful, relaxing setting. The signature free-range chicken with ginger shallot sauce was incredibly tender and flavorful. Also recommend the garlic scallops with vermicelli, crispy golden prawn balls, and the seafood fried rice—so tasty and generous in portion. Perfect for group dinners or family gatherings with spacious private rooms. Will definitely be back!
