I wanted a "genuine Chinese food" experience. Not kung pow chicken with fortune cookies. I looked for a restaurant that doesn't have much English, where the staff don't speak much English, where the local Chinese community know where to go, with a clean and not fancy presentation. I found that when I walked past Master Guo's Chinese Restaurant and out of pure curiosity I walked in. I spoke English and literally half the patrons turned around to look curiously at me. I was confronted by tubs of darkly marinated duck body parts at the front counter. I sat down and ordered and it was a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic, generous servings, strong flavours which satisfied my itch to eat authentic regional Chinese foods, it was so delicious and spicy! As I sat there I saw a steady stream of customers buying marinated duck body parts by weight. I enjoyed the clanking and sizzling noises from the kitchen and the kitchen staff talking out back. The decor was simple and the atmosphere was busy and slightly noisy without music, it was perfect, it was authentic. At checkout the person told me that they sell over 300kg of marinated duck body parts a week. I'm returning to this wonderful restaurant for more and one day I hope to build up the courage to buy a marinated duck claw. The staff assured me that it was spicy and delicious. I believe them but it looks like a webbed claw... Highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem for an authentic and welcoming experience.
One of the best duck spots in Campsie! The duck was flavorful, crispy, and perfect with rice. We also tried the stir-fried noodles and soup, both were generous and delicious. Great place for a satisfying meal, but go early because it gets busy!
Authentic Chinese restaurant with incredibly tasty braised duck and offal, perfect for takeaway as well. The crispy beef with rice crust and sweet and sour pork are both super flavorful and go great with rice. 🥢
Food is very delicious! As someone from the northeast, their dishes are very authentic. Also,the menu has a variety of selection to cater your appetite!
Every dish we ordered was delicious, from spicy fried tripe to traditional soybean paste scrambled eggs. Perfect spot for hearty, satisfying Chinese food!
