Dining Experience @ Mr Meng Chongqing Gourmet. . Ambience is lively and bustling, the communal lounge‑style dining hall layout lit by warm lights. The sturdy and wide furnishings are comfortable, albeit showing signs of wear and tear. The space hums with movement and noise. . Service is fast, no-nonsense, and efficient. Place your orders and make payment over the counter, and after a short wait while your orders are freshly prepared, staff serve it tableside rather brusquely. They clean up quickly when diners leave, expect little conversation. . Food is Chinese Sichuan / Szechuan cuisine, bold and fiery in taste, true to life; there's only 1 or 2 non-spicy dishes here. Portions are large and hearty, and their signature noodles are well-executed. Prices are reasonable, budget about AUD $24 / SGD $22 per person.
One of the best Chongqing/Sichuan restaurants I’ve tried in Sydney. The flavors were bold and authentic, and every dish came out fresh and hot. The crispy pork was super crunchy on the outside while still juicy inside — seriously addictive. The kung pao chicken had a perfect balance of sweetness, spice, and crunch, and the spicy potato dish was packed with flavor too. The restaurant was clean and modern, service was quick, and the portions were generous for the price. Definitely worth visiting if you enjoy proper spicy Chinese food.
Very yummy , decent amount, price is reasonable, at this market city location. seating comfortable. The waiter boy is very friendly and patient. We will come back and recommend to everyone.
Always love Mr. Meng when I’m craving some spicy saucy savoury comfort noodles.!! Yum!!! It is a chain store so there are set standards for the flavours. I have to say that the customer service was excellent when we went. Not sure if it was only the people on this day or if they have training standards for their staff as well. We ordered a lot of cold side dishes as well but unfortunately forgot to take photos as we all dug in. This is a restaurant that you can definitely expect the same taste each time you visit. No surprises.
Great place to eat spicy noodles for a good price. I come here for dinner often and def recommend a try of the special fries
