We ordered the Chicken Fried Rice, Vegetable Spring Rolls, and Szechuan Chicken—all flavorful, well-cooked, and served in large portions. The menu clearly mentioned the use of MSG, which we appreciated for its transparency. Service was quick and helpful, with extras like raw chilies provided on request. Only one staff member spoke English, but it wasn’t an issue. The dine-in space is very limited (just three tight tables), and takeaway boxes cost 50 cents each if you bring leftovers. Despite the small setup, the food quality makes this spot a hidden gem for takeout lovers.

Mrs Wongs in Merrylands is amazing for Chinese food. My family have been eating here since the 1970s! That's before I was even born. I highly recommend their spring rolls. They are the best I've ever had. We also love their Szechuan chicken and salt and pepper chicken or prawns. The honey chicken and satay chicken is also very good. They have well-priced lunch specials and I love that you can buy the spring rolls individually as well.

I’m not usually one to write reviews, but from the food to the service, everything about Mrs Wong’s made for such an enjoyable experience! Everything I tried was really delicious, the service was quick, and I think most importantly, it was really clear that a lot of effort and care goes into the cooking. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was super friendly!! As a vegetarian, I often struggle to find authentic Chinese food where I have more than one or two menu options to choose from, and even then, I usually find myself triple-checking (and then overthinking) whether I can actually eat them. Eating here was amazing because I was immediately reassured that my dietary requirements would be met, which made my experience so refreshing. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu, and I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Chinese food in the area!

I love it here! Hands down best Chinese in the area. I've been to heaps of local takeaway Chinese places around the Parramatta, Merrylands, Blacktown areas and surrounding suburbs and Mrs wongs is the best! If you haven't been here and you like takeaway Chinese, it's a MUST!
