i had a good experience eating at the burwood branch, so took my partner here to try out this branch (i believe there's only the burwood and eastwood branches as of current). both of them are very highly-rated and they do live up to it!! arrived around 5:30pm, saturday evening; there wasn't a line, so we were seated immediately. got a free kelp side dish, and also self-serve free suanmeitang (sour plum drink) that is really, REALLY good (i personally love drinking it, but if you're not used to it you may not like it; either way, they've got plain water too). ordered the vegetarian biang biang noodles; partner ordered the pork mince ones. despite the restaurant being really crowded the dishes arrived quickly! noodles themselves are really, really good; the tomato sauce, chilli, egg and oil fuse into something that is texturally very delightful against the noodle (of which there were three and they were VERY long). the chilli isn't very spicy (or i was fine eating it, i have a pretty moderate spice tolerance?) and to be honest i was just enamored by how long and tasty the noodles were haha. partner's dish looked so good, another customer over at the next table asked him what it was so she could order it too XD neither of us could finish our bowls though, so we got the leftovers as takeout :) waiters are all also really nice! it's a busy establishment but they were alternating between offering suanmeitang to people waiting in line, asking people if they wanted free noodle refills, serving dishes, cleaning tables and refilling the self-serve stations. i have no idea how they do it but they are very hard-working! the prices are really good for meals, and that's valuable to me as a uni student who isn't swimming in money haha. i think my bowl was $17.90 and i feel like there aren't many places in sydney that have meals that cheap anymore, especially for noodles this good + free refills & drink. a line does seem to form quickly, so do be mindful of that. i do think it's worth it though! i will probably be back at a later date, probably with all my friends in tow... haha. thank you again and happy chinese new year!

The stretchiest, most addictive handmade noodles in Sydney! Free noodle refills and bottomless plum juice make this spot even better. My Aunt’s Handmade Noodles (Eastwood & Burwood) always has a line, and it’s easy to see why. What we tried: * Biang biang noodles — perfectly chewy with a spicy, umami-packed sauce * Pork mince noodles — comforting, saucy, and non-spicy * Braised beef brisket noodle soup — rich, deep, and full of flavour * Lanzhou beef ramen — very beefy and satisfying * Signature crispy pork — crispy on the outside, juicy inside, great with chili powder * Lava brown sugar rice cake — soft, chewy, and not overly sweet * Yogurt milk — like a drinkable Greek yogurt Overall, definitely worth the wait. Now I understand the hype.

I’ve been here a few times .. noticed the lines are not as long of recent. I remember the food was better but didn’t enjoy it as much the last time . It was still okay but it wasn’t yummy . There are plenty of similar options . But nevertheless remains a quick and easy option. The free plum drink and refill is a nice extra. Don’t worry about the round balls. Would I come here again , probably wait for a little while before coming back.

We came at around 9:30 pm, where the restaurant was a little crowded but not too much. If you want to sit down quicker when it’s busy, you can choose to share a table (eg. There are 2 people at a 6-seater table. The worker managing people going in of the restaurant will ask if a 2 or 3 person group would like to share a table to save time). My family opted to not share a table, and had a 5-minute wait time. The restaurant is open to bring other food inside. There was a roughly 10-15 minute wait time of our food, and our food came in the order spicy cucumber, Lanzhou beef ramen, and biang biang noodles. The condiment bar is open to everyone, with infinite of all the drinks and condiments (please see pictures). The spicy cucumber was decently good, not perfect but with no bad or even slightly bad things about it. The Lanzhou beef noodles were very good. The broth is slightly numb and tingly on the tongue. The noodles were nice and chewy (though from many reviews I read, chewy noodles aren’t suited for everyone). There was an extremely generous portion of beef. The signature 4 on 1 biang biang noodles consisted of flat noodles, chopped potato, chopped carrot, chopped pepper, chili powder, tomato egg, bean sprouts, and meat paste/meat sauce. It was extremely good- the noodles were also chewy, and the toppings were flavorful. The only problem I have with this dish is how much sauce and flavor it has- it’s a little overloaded on the flavoring. A suggestion I have is to slightly reduce the amount of sauce and allow people to dress their meal how flavorful they like it at the condiment bar. Overall, the meal was incredibly good, with a singular problem (hence the 4/5 given for the food category). Their sour plum drink is sweet, and goes well with the meals. There’s not much to say for this little bit. Service was excellent, and I personally thought that the employees did so well, I gave them a small tip. The employees were friendly, and frequently asked us if we wanted extra noodles, and allowed us to sit how we liked (as in sharing a table or not). When the waiter gave us our dish, they pointed to the condiment bar to guide us. They were polite and helpful. There is a lot of choice given here. If you scan a QR code, you can order online and pay at the counter. For the Lanzhou beef ramen, you had the option to remove the scallions and vegetables. For the biang biang noodles, you could do the same but also remove chili powder. You can also do it at the counter. Overall, the restaurant is very unique in the choice they give you for all your food and the drinks to represent culture. This restaurant has very reasonable prices, and generally prioritize the food and the culture (hence the name of the restaurant) over money.

The portions are incredibly generous and definitely worth the price. They even offer free noodle refills, which feels like such a bonus in this economy! Despite how busy the restaurant gets, the staff still make the effort to visit every table and check whether customers would like a noodle refill. I also saw one auntie go outside to serve hot soy milk to people waiting in the queue, which was such a thoughtful touch. Really impressive service overall. The staff are friendly, attentive, and welcoming.
