We ordered quite a lot of dishes just for 3 which led to a higher average price, and overall I still think it was reasonably priced for what we got. Here’s my honest review based on my personal preference~ * 野山椒炒肉 (Stir-fried beef with chillies) – 8/10 Really enjoyed this one. The flavours worked well together, and it had a nice kick without being too overpowering. * 黄焖鸡 (Chicken stew with chilli in brown sauce) – 6.2/10 It was okay, nothing bad about it, but it didn’t really stand out compared to the other dishes. * 皮蛋茄子 (Smashed eggplant with century egg) – 9/10 Honestly, this was a surprise favourite! It was my first time trying this dish, and I absolutely loved it. The combination of flavours and texture was so good. * 臭豆腐 (Stinky tofu) – 7.5/10 Not the best stinky tofu I’ve ever had, but it was still pretty decent and definitely worth trying. I’d still recommend ordering it. * 口味花菜 (Cauliflower) – 5/10 ☹️ This one was a bit of a letdown. It wasn’t what I was expecting, and the flavour just didn’t do it for me. Overall, the food was quite solid and we had a really enjoyable meal. The service and environment were okay—not anything particularly special—but if you’re mainly here for decent food, that’s probably not too important. Would definitely recommend this place and I’ll happily come back again to try more dishes!
Definitely one of the best Hunan restaurant I've ever tried! The flavor is very authentic, making me nostalgic... The cuisine we had today: beef very tende; spicy tofu the best mate for the rice; plus my favorite intestine hotpot Will come back again!
The dishes are well presented, portions are generous, and the dining environment is cosy and relaxed. A great place to enjoy real Hunan food in Sydney. Highly recommend!
If you’re looking for authentic spice from china this is the spot! We ordered the fried egg and the beef. It’s that perfect 'hurt so good' kind of heat. The flavors are complex, bold, and totally addictive. Pro tip: Order the cucumber salad to save your tastebuds between bites. I’ll be back with more friends!
The food tastes very authentic, with real Hunan-style flavors. The spices are bold and well balanced, just like traditional Hunan home cooking.
