It wasn’t as spicy as I was expecting for Sichuan (四川) cuisine, but overall the experience was still pretty good and I’d recommend giving it a try. We ordered a few dishes, and here are my ratings based on my own personal preference. I totally forgot the English names of some of them, so I’ll just give them my own names 😂 * 有机菜花 (Stir-fried broccolini/cauliflower) – 5.5/10 * 辣笋炒螺片 (Spicy stir-fried whelk slices with bamboo shoots) – 7/10 * 沸腾鱼 (Boiled black fish) – 7/10 * 土豆丝 (Stir-fried shredded potatoes) – 4.5/10 (Forgot to take a photo 😅). It was a little plain and didn’t have much flavour compared to the other dishes. Overall, it might not be the best Sichuan food I’ve had, but it was still an enjoyable meal and definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. I’d happily come back to try some of their other dishes.

Taikoo Li - Sichuan Chinese, Burwood Overall: 6/7 Really punchy, spicy flavours with tons of variety. There’s definitely something here for you if you can take the heat! Quite popular on weekends… expect a line. Spicy green bean noodle: 6/7 - $8.8 Really quality noodles - sauce is also nice. Good balance of sweet, salty and spicy. Wouldnt mind it being a bit more intense Pickled fish: 5/7 - $36.8 Fish and contents inside were good, but soup wasn’t as flavourful / umami as other places Fried chicken pieces: 6/7 $24.8 Really good. Chicken is juicy, not too spicy and plentiful. Compared to others, ratio of chill to chicken is much better value. Spicy roast fish: 5/7 Very spicy for me. Well cooked fish that actually had flavour in the fish. Pretty big portion with a variety of additions including veggies and noodles. Steamed pork: 4/7 Was quite plain on the day, maybe because the spicy fish was too overpowering. But took it away and it was better the next day. Quite spicy and fairly nutmeg heavy. It’s a BIG pot, but not that full actually.

This is some of the better Chinese food I've had in Sydney! Lovely spicy, umami, salty flavours. We really loved the eggplants and pork mince. The flavour was amazing, slightly sweet, spicy, salty and I really enjoyed the soft texture of the eggplants. It was my favourite. The chicken stir fry with chilli was also really yummy. The chicken was super tender and I also really enjoyed how there were many vegetables. The sweet style duck was quite unique to me since most Chinese roast duck is always salty and not sweet. It was a nice experience though I wouldn't have too much of it. The half duck was good for our group of 5. The sliced chilli in oil was quite spicy and umami and was quite delicious at first but I got a bit bored of it after a bit as the other dishes came out. We got the sour and spicy potato salad and it's enjoyable if you like sour flavours. The potatoes have a nice crunch to them. Overall, it was a very value for money meal and very delicious. I'd say it's probably top tier Chinese food in Sydney for me and I have Chinese food at home almost every day hahahah.

Great restaurant. Opens till 11.30pm. Water and cutlery are self serve. I ordered the Chengdu noodle spicy soup and it was big portion, loved it. Perfect for single or 4ppl to have a quick meal there. Love the broth. The coconut dessert is crispy, light and not too sweet (how i like it).
