I’d give this place 3 stars. The food is good, but the waiting time is very long. I ordered the beef congee. The congee itself was tasty, but there were very few slices of beef. The dumplings were $10 for only six pieces, and I had to wait quite a while for them as well. The pear dessert was delicious, but their stock seemed very limited. It was already sold out by my third visit. Overall, the food is good, but it’s just an average restaurant. It’s not a place I would highly recommend. 好吃可吃，只是要等待而已。普普三顆星

Traditional Cantonese Chinese Cantonese, Burwood Overall: 5/7 Strangely their “specialty” Cheung fen isnt great… but they do do all the other rice items really nice. Would come back to try more of the menu, quick and easy comfort food. The clay pots don’t look like they have the best ratio of rice:toppings, but haven’t tried. Egg prawn Cheung fen: 3/7 - The rice noodle was just way too thick… the prawns within were great and bouncy. Char Kway teow: 6/7 - The thick rice noodle works super well here actually. Stir fried really well with smoky wok hei, probably one of the best I’ve had in Sydney. Sticky rice chicken wrap: 5/7 - $9.8 Good ratio of chicken to sticky rice, and everything was well seasoned. The rice itself is good quality and steamed really well.

14/6/26 - 3.5 stars Apparently this is a somewhat famous restaurant chain. Wasn't that busy on a Sunday and could get in pretty easily. Nothing fancy about the service or restaurant itself. Food is ok. Might be a bit unfair to compare with overseas, but, unfortunately that's just how it is now. Price point is a little elevated. Cheung fun Flavour: A+, 7.5/10. The prawn was slightly more juicy and tasty. The bbq pork was dry. Texture: S, 8/10. Initially fairly smooth and soft. Got a bit dry. Value: B, 6/10. $12-16 Youtiao Flavour: S, 8/10 Texture: S+, 8.5/10. Actually thought it was pretty solid Value: B, 6/10. $4 Fish congee: A, 7/10. Not that flavourful Pork rib claypot Flavour: A, 7/10. Pork was ok but rice was quite bland Texture: A, 7/10. Rice was not really crispy Value: B, 6/10. $23

Very traditional Cantonese eatery that specialises in steamed rice rolls (Cheung Fun). All rolls are made fresh to order. Big menu with different protein and veg options. On table are additional soy sauce and chilli oil. Also available are congee, clay pot rice and stir fry and soup noodles. They also make their own soy drink. A very affordable and convenient meal in the heart of Burwood.

I had a very disappointing experience at this Cantonese restaurant. What made it worse was the communication issue — staff were unable to speak either Cantonese or English, and customers were effectively forced to communicate in Mandarin. In a city like Sydney, especially at a Cantonese restaurant, this is quite unacceptable. It made ordering unnecessarily difficult and uncomfortable. On top of that, the service attitude was poor — staff seemed impatient and unhelpful. The food itself was only average and did not make up for the overall experience. There are many better Cantonese options in Sydney that offer both good service and proper communication. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.
