I’ve been here several times now, sometimes alone during the day after a thrifting session and also with friends on a Saturday night. I can definitely say that the cocktails are incredible- every time. Live the music they play and the vibes are amazing. Staff are so sweet and kind which I love. I highly recommend visiting!
I have been visiting uncanny for years, it is my favourite Sunday afternoon cocktail spot . The vibes are immaculate! Nic and Jake behind the bar treat my boyfriend and I like old friends and the chefs seasonal menu has a great range for both myself and my partner who is vegan. I once fell so in love with one of their cocktails they eventually shared the secret recipe with me! My favourite night was a cowboy night they had. More of this please uncanny ! I’m yet to visit their market day due to work commitments but I love that they gone back to the local community by hosting such things :) Thank you uncanny and your staff !
Walking past, first the name caught my attention. Then the music caught my ear. I look around, the wall painting captured my attention. Small bar, big vibe! The catch phrase captures my curiosity. I park my bike and I walk in. I browse the menu and think of getting the usual sparkling. Then the happy folks next to me getting a piece of fresh lemon in their golden ale. I change my mind, I order the same. Enjoying Fresh night breeze after the baking hot simmer summer day. A train of generic pop songs playing after another like how the trains pass by the newtown station. One of the best ways to chill out and enjoy the peaceful summer night time in Sydney.
Had a lovely dinner and drinks here before a show, will definitely come back! We shared dips and bread, spicy potatoes and the scotch fillet between the 3 of us, so filling and delicious!
If you are exploring Newtown and want to have nice cocktail and an amazing food then do visit this place. Ambience is perfect irrespective of weather, day/time/night the vibes are too good. Staff is so nice and expressive and make sure you enjoy every moment you spend there. I had a chat with Nicole and Zoe about different cocktails and Newtown. Zoe made our drinks and they were perfect. Looking forward to visit again.
