Arrived at 11.50. Immediately was asked if we wanted a coffee while we decided on our order- good upsell tactic - well done My daughter ordered coffee and doughnut, I ordered coffee on instinct but then decided I was going to have the soup So I asked if it was okay to cancel the coffee and was given the filthiest look by the server. Nonetheless, the order for coffee was cancelled My daughter had also ordered a hot chicken sandwich, but the coffee and doughnut came out first… I had ordered the soup of the day, which was tomato- 30 minutes later the soup arrived Considering at this stage it was just starting to get busy and people who arrived after us had already received their food- I was shocked at how long it took- the soup I had ordered had a blob of some kind of either cheese or cream or sour In the centre that had coagulated, It was vile tasting and looked unappealing. I asked the waiter after about 10 attempts to get anyone’s attention if I could have it without the product in the centre as this was not mentioned in the description of the food and I did not want it- He said he would check he didn’t apologise or remove the dish- he left in there - he literally could not have cared less. He then returned five minutes later holding a bowl of a replacement soup by its rim, not even on a plate Super unhygienic and placed it down - taking the old one away- still not a word of acknowledgment- by this time I was pretty hungry I tasted the soup wasn’t bad not their best work. It already had some kind of Parmesan or other cheese dissolved inside the soup - why? I asked the Waiter, if he could check on my daughter’s food, which still have not arrived. It was now 1240. He Sheepishly looked as if he had forgotten to order it and then he went up and pressed something on their little ordering device. At 12.50 we asked, could we get the food to take away because we had to leave my daughter had to go to work. Overall, this was a pretty lousy experience- as I approached the counter to pay- it was after 1pm - I was greeted by a bemused chef and a different server trying to work out whose takeaway order it was. Who knows how long I’ve been sitting there,. So, as I paid it was obvious that this other server could not have cared less either!! And he seemed genuinely bemused when I told them what a terrible experience we’ve had - Honestly, do not ask me “how was your experience today” if you don’t want me to tell you the truth. The service was appalling. No one checked in on us. No one topped up water. The only thing that they did do was come back and try and upsell another coffee halfway through the food. My poor daughter had to take her food to work as she did not get to eat. Disappointing. I’ve heard such good things about this place however, I think Hallies review is pretty much my experience too- I know people love this place. I guess they must just have low standards.. At the bare minimum, they should’ve given my daughter the food that she waited more than one hour for because the server forgot to order it- close to $60 for this experience!! Nonetheless, I paid the bill I left and I’m writing an honest and open review because this kind of awful Customer service should be called out - over priced and over rated.

I really enjoyed a breakfast here! The waiter was great and the open kitchen was fascinating. I got the burrito and added the avocado to it which I thought they forgot to put in until I reached to bottom so I was a little disappointed but everything else made up for it. Very yummy though. Get the maple iced coffee it was fire

Long time diner, first time poster. I’ve visited multiple times and my only issue is that I struggle to decide what to eat as everything is so tasty! The breakky burrito is ✨divine✨ and is made even better by adding the Oaxaca cheese. Add a side of home fries and use the hot sauce and you are in heaven! My other main go to is the chefs rec. The muffin is always so damn tasty - and sometimes to egg is so big it’s falling off! They recently changed the home fries for this to potato gems and omg, what a glow up. My go to drink is the iced maple latte. So delish! If I don’t need a coffee fix, an Arnold Palmer can’t be looked past.

Unfortunately had a bad experience at Valentinas, but it was just okay overall. Wait time on a weekend wasnt bad, got there at 11:30a.m. ordered food and coffee 10 mins after. Wasn't till 12:10p.m. our food still hadn't arrived, as we watched 3 tables after us sat down and getting their food before we did which had us confused. No staff checked in on us until we raised it with them asking where our food was. Staff mentioned it was a glitch and the kitchen didn't receive our order, they gave us donuts on the house as an apology saying we had to wait an extra 10 mins for food. While we appreciated the gesture of the donuts, we'd rather they complemented our coffees or a portion of a dish from our bill- rather than just giving us more sweets to fill up before the food actually arrived. Food was pretty, but tasted a bit plain and basic. Also as we were sat on the bar where we could look over at the open kitchen, one of the young chefs frequently use their hands to touch the food for temperature, and aided in transferring hot food (like bacon) from the grill to plate. It did have me concerned about contamination considering they'd wipe their hands on their apron/pants. I haven't seen this chef wash their hands during service either. Upon paying the bill, we were then asked to confirm if we had 1 round or 2 rounds of coffee- which kind of just made us feel silly as if we didn't wait 40 minutes for food to arrive- we'd want to pay more? Wasn't worth complaining as we were just hungry and found this local diner so promising till unfortunately, we were disappointed with the quality of food and service. Perhaps we were the unlucky ones, unsure if we'd go again. Definitely think both FOH and BOH need to review/renew SOP's.

good local vibe. Their pancake is very nice. What I like more is that we can choose how many pieces the customer wants. I ordered one piece of pancake, and when I took the first bite, l relized I should have got 2 pieces. I will do next time.
