The food and drinks we ordered was delicious, never too salty and tastefully. Only not recommend the fried dumplings which were a little oily and too big I prefer the traditional boiled or steamed dumpling. Decorations and seating arrangement is prettier and brighter. The stone bar table is unique and nice kind of reflecting Chinese Feng Shui I guess. The overall service just need improve. Drink list is good with so many choice..
We went to New Shanghai located on low ground floor in Chatswood chase for brunch. We haven’t been to this restaurant for a very long time. The new decor was very nice, the service was excellent. The food was tasty, but with the price we paid, the serving could be more generous. Overall the experience was good.
We had a birthday dinner here. Sweet and sour barramundi is a highlight, must order! Very steady quality of pork bun and xiao long bao!.
Used to go here a lot as a kid. With the new renovation and reopening, I can say that the food, quality and look has definitely improved! Best dish here is easily the Pan-Fried Pork Buns. Good colour and perfectly crispy at the bottom. The soup inside is very tasty 😋 The only thing is that it can get quite busy at times (which is normal), so you sometimes have to wait a little while for your food or drinks to come. Overall, it’s great++ 👍
The renovated restaurant with booth seatings is nice. Service was good too. Unfortunately limited vegetarian options. Bone/chicken broth are used in soup based foods. The vege dumplings were average, and scallions pancakes and the salt and pepper tofu underwhelming. My non-vego friends love the dumplings but said the other dishes were not as good.
