I think management has changed hands a few times here. I thought I would check it out as it’s been years since I last came here. I ordered the lamb and chicken gyros with one in a meal. The chips were crispy and quite nice. I was served pretty quickly and the food was ready quite quickly. The gyros was not bad but a bit dry. The price point was about $25 for a meal. The burgers were a bit dry and there weren’t as many chips in the combo.
Without any doubt the best gyros (pronounced; yee-ros) outside of Greece! Completely authentic from the pita bread, to the marinated chargrilled meat, to the inclusion of hot chips on the wrap. Perfect.
I've been coming here for a few years. It's changed hands a few times and like others in these reviews I've copped a bout of food poisoning under one of the previous owners but across all management the quality has usually been pretty decent. The quality for most stuff on the menu is good but not great; exactly what you'd want from a suburban takeaway with pricing to match. I used to get the chef's special roll which was very nice and very filling for the price. Until today, when I decided to try the chicken gyros. Goodness me it was amazing. In particular, the meat was really nicely marinated and you can tell the bread was baked from scratch by someone who knows what they're doing. Lovely smokey flavours all through it. When the guy at the counter asked if I wanted chilli sauce with it I ummed and ahhed about it; he then sold me on it and I don't regret it. Not too spicy but really great flavour. So yeah. 17 bucks gets you one of the nicest gyros you'll ever try, certainly the best I've ever had in Sydney. Run, don't walk.
Disappointed to say the least I do feel sorry to leave such a bad review however it's very well justified. Walked in with dirty plates everywhere, the display counters are empty. Half a chicken on display and a few people eating... I thought at least people eating this must be a local favourite? I ordered the gyros think it'll be quick however nearly 20 minutes later I received two cold gyros about three chips in it hardly any toppings at all very dry underseasoned and cold cold... do not recommend.
Staff were friendly and hard working. Bought a Chicken schnitzel roll $12.50. Really good size. Nice shredded lettuce and nice sliced tomato on roll. Chicken was a great size and nice. Very happy with roll and a really great price.
