Had fish and chips here earlier and it was really delicious. The portion was generous! lots of chips and the fish batter was big and satisfying. Service was excellent, especially from staff member Emon. Definitely will come back again!
Used to be Great Fish & Burgers at this place. Somewhere in late 2024 they changed so that the burgers we're up by 30% and then you can't get fish without chips anymore and the price went up a lot more than what it would have cost with fish plus chips before. For example fish by itself was 10 to $12 plus 4 for chips. Now Fish & Chips are 18 to 20 +. I don't eat chips so effectively it's doubled in price
I used to go there and enjoyed the fish burger which was moist, juicy with yummy homemade sauce in it. However today’s fish burger was very disappointing. The fish was very thin and dry to the extent that I thought they gave me the wrong thing as it was so different from the old days. The fish fillet was also small that it could be rarely seen in the burger (see photo- where is the fish?). There were not much sauce also and I felt like eating a dry salad the fish burger. I miss the fish burger in the old days were so good back then, but not anymore. Outside tables were dirty while inside the music was too loud.
This was a great meal after completing the Bondi to Coogee walk. The fish was covered with a thin, crispy batter, and it was also flaky, moist, and fresh. The chips were a bit soggy, which I like, and were perfectly seasoned with some salt and pepper. However, the gourmet salad could have been cut into smaller pieces; it was more like chunks of tomatoes and cucumbers with cheese and vinaigrette.
Your standard fish and chips store at one of the busiest beach in Sydney. Menu is clear and easy to order. Seafood tastes fresh but chips are bit oily. The grilled fish portion was too small tbh. We wanted to get the fish tacos but they didn’t have it on that day…what a shame!
