It’s wonderful to find a French eating experience which has both an authenticity and creativity balanced in such intimate and grounded decor. The food was truely wonderful, we enjoyed the degustation option with wine pairing. However the menu looked amazing with many options for our next dining at Bon Vin. The team were genuinely warm and welcoming which quickly made us feel at home. The service was excellent and highly professional. The chef, Lisa Nicholson, was equally charming to our wonderful experience as we departed the restaurant. We will definitely be back soon

We celebrated our engagement at Bon Vin and honestly couldn’t have picked a better place. We had the 5-course menu with wine pairing and every course was exceptional. The host was energetic, welcoming, and made the whole experience feel really personal and special. Every wine suggestion was spot on for both myself and my fiancé, and you could tell a lot of thought went into matching each drink perfectly with the food. The atmosphere was intimate and memorable without feeling pretentious. A fantastic experience from start to finish — highly recommend for a special occasion.

A beautiful evening at Bon Vin with a menu that delivered on every course. We started with wine — I had the Geoff Merrill Reserve while my wife chose Le Roc. Both were excellent picks: elegant, smooth and beautifully balanced, pairing effortlessly with the food throughout the night. For entrées we shared the oysters, scallops and duck ravioli. Each dish was a standout in its own way. The oysters were pristine and briny, the scallops delicately cooked with a lovely sweetness, and the duck ravioli rich, silky and deeply comforting. For mains we ordered the beef fillet and the duck confit. We actually took a bit of a gamble on the duck as we’ve rarely had a truly memorable duck dish at a French restaurant before — but this one absolutely delivered. The confit was incredibly tender with meat so soft it simply melted in the mouth, balanced by beautifully crisp skin. The beef fillet was equally impressive, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. To finish, we had the crème brûlée and the spring citrus dessert. The crème brûlée had that perfect crack of caramelised sugar with a smooth, creamy custard underneath, while the citrus dessert was light, vibrant and refreshing. a perfect way to end the meal. A refined yet relaxed dining experience with thoughtful cooking and excellent wine. Bon Vin is clearly a place that takes pride in doing the classics well.

We opted for the three-course menu per person, and it was fantastic value—especially given how generous the portions are. From the very start, it was clear that this is a place where you won’t leave hungry. For entrées, we chose the duck ravioli and the beef tartare. Both were delicious, but the duck ravioli truly stood out. Rich, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor, it’s an absolute must-order and easily one of the highlights of the meal. For mains, we followed the chef’s recommendation and went with the beef and the duck. Both dishes were outstanding. The meat was cooked to perfection—beautifully tender, soft, and deeply flavorful. Everything about the dishes felt authentically French, from the technique to the taste. Dessert did not disappoint either. The crème brûlée was creamy with a perfectly crisp top, and the chocolate cake was rich and indulgent without being overwhelming. We would wholeheartedly recommend both. Overall, an excellent dining experience with generous portions, impeccable cooking, and truly authentic French flavors. We’ll definitely be back.
