I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at Porcine. A special shoutout to Michael, who provided exceptional service throughout our visit. What impressed me most was his deep knowledge of the menu — he could confidently explain how each dish was prepared, where the ingredients were sourced from, and how the various components were paired together. It’s increasingly rare to come across servers with that level of passion and understanding, and it genuinely enhanced the dining experience. Porcine isn’t a fine dining establishment, nor does it try to be. The atmosphere is casual, relaxed, and comfortable — the kind of place that makes you feel at home. Don’t expect anything fancy; instead, expect a warm, friendly environment that is perfect for catching up with family and friends. The food was definitely above average. The French-inspired menu showcased creativity, particularly in the entrées. The chef’s skill and maturity were evident in the way less common meats such as venison and Duroc collar were handled. Both were cooked beautifully — moist, flavourful, and remarkably free from any gamey taste. It takes confidence and technique to execute dishes like these so well. The pricing is reasonable for the quality of food and service on offer. While I probably wouldn’t make a special trip solely to dine here, I would happily stop by if I were in the area or passing through. It’s a worthwhile pit stop for good food, excellent service, and a relaxed dining experience.

Cool little bistro in cool little Paddington, does Sydney do French better than Melbourne? 🤔 Porcine deserves its rep, the smell when you walk in says yep I’m at the right place. Even the Cave downstairs looked like it’s been there for decades. Amazing service from waiters who know what’s what. Two Sancerres on the wine list, one by the glass and bread to die for. Haven’t had a Pate en Croute this good in decades, the Vol-au-Vent was special too. No time for squashed duck, next time as I’m sure there will be.

What an amazing lunchtime dining experience. Every dish was divine and our waiter Michael was exceptional... he was happy to banter with us and his recommendations were spot on. We had quite a few dishes but my favourite was the deer and the duroc collar.

We didn't have a booking and they were very accommodating in making it work for us when we were turned away at a few other places. And what a gem! The food was exceptional, one of the best meals we have had in a while. The steak is an absolute must try, I wish I had the recipe of that sauce 🤤 The staff were also very helpful and friendly and put up with our group who were very excited 😆 love this place and we will 100% be back next time in Sydney.

Such a wonderful dinner serving the whole duck. We had to book before hand as they only make two a day and now we understand why. So much work goes into preparing it. They prepared some of the duck at our table. We were memorised watching, as the removed the meat from the bone and then pressed the bone using a special ingredient and equipment. Making a delicious sauce to serve with the duck meat. So many dishes were made from one duck. INCREABLE! Definitely a night to remember. Very worthy it.👏👏👏
