We went for a birthday lunch for a group of 4. Their waitresses were exceptionally friendly and professional. The food we chose was just average especially the steak was very stringy but Overall we enjoyed our food & Service.
Very disappointing and misleading experience. We booked through Table First and were told only order the set menu, without proper explanation of the contents. The menu was taken away quickly after ordering and no one asked about food allergies before serving bread. I later informed staff that I am gluten-intolerant, yet one of the desserts still contained gluten. This shows poor allergy handling and lack of care. The set menu total shown on the bill was $114. At payment, the POS machine showed a higher amount and the staff told me there was a Sunday surcharge. There was no clear notice on the menu, in the restaurant, or on the booking platform about any Sunday surcharge. The receipt also did not show a surcharge line — only the higher total charged ($126.78). When I called to question this, a staff member said “maybe you’re not Australian so you don’t understand Sunday surcharge,” which was quite disrespectful. The manager later called and insisted they could charge whatever they want and claimed there is no law requiring disclosure — which is incorrect. The manager then agreed on Monday to refund the 10% surcharge, but several days later no refund has been received and my follow-up message has been ignored. Poor transparency in pricing, poor allergy awareness, and poor complaint handling. I cannot recommend this restaurant based on this experience.
We went on a meltingly hot and windy Saturday afternoon for Happy Hour. I'd never been and was surprised by the beach-y feel: plastic weave chairs and uneven tables. It's very casual and cozy, with seating right next to the bar. From start to finish, all of the staff were very accommodating, answering all our questions, letting us move seats a couple of times ... And the price on the website was different that what was quoted at the restaurant for the set menu we had selected, but they were generous in allowing our happy hour snacks to be considered part of the set menu. Food and drinks were very good, from starters to mains to dessert. Nothing fancy but everything was fresh and hot and flavorful. My salmon had a lovely crispy skin! I'll try the steak next time. It looked really good!!
Didn't taste very French, but service was alright. Did a First Table but the menu was different to what was on the app (and more expensive). But overall the food was fine, but the steak was chewy and not great.
We had breakfast at Saisons. We had the eggs benedict, and a toastie. Great place, great atmosphere, good service. But the coffee was too strong and not hot. Yes, we recommend Saisons for its location and atmosphere ! Then take a walk along the Esplanade as we did - fantastic! Saisons should be a great place late afternoon / evening, over a cocktail.
