I rarely write reviews, but I felt I had to share my experience from today. I invited my friend's family to Masala Kitchen because we had wanted to try this place for a long time whenever we walked past it. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. The lamb kebab and Paneer 65 were both good even my little one enjoyed. However, the chicken lollipop tasted like it had been cooked earlier and simply reheated, smelled bit odd too. It wasn't even served hot given that its deep fried. The pepper chicken fry was the biggest disappointment—the chicken was extremely dry, and the pieces looked and tasted very old. I've attached photos because I've never had chicken served like this that too in restaurant. It genuinely made me wonder how long ago the chicken had been prepared. For the main course, the prawns in the prawn curry were fresh, but the gravy itself tasted undercooked. The masala and ginger were very raw. The Malai Kofta was just average. On the positive side, the butter roti and naan were fresh and well made. We spent around $170 for this dinner, and I had specifically invited my friends to experience this restaurant. I honestly felt embarrassed and disappointed. I didn't raise the issue with the staff at the time because I didn't want to make my guests feel uncomfortable or spoil the evening. This wasn't the experience we were expecting. Looking at the restaurant's 3,500+ reviews with a 4.5-star rating, it's honestly hard to believe those ratings reflect the food we were served today. If this is the standard being served, I genuinely don't understand how the restaurant has maintained such a high rating.
I visited this restaurant today with my family, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing for the second time. We ordered the Gobi 65, but it was served undercooked and had an unpleasant taste. During our previous visit, we were served Dal Makhani that tasted sour and was clearly not fresh. After two unsatisfactory experiences, we have decided that we will not be returning. We hope the restaurant takes customer feedback seriously and improves its food quality and consistency in the future.
I had dhal which was very tasty I cleaned it all up as you can see and my husband had Oh My Goat which he described as very good and tasty. The service and staff excellent. We would recommend Masala Kitchen to any who likes a good curry
The food at Masala Kitchen Penrith was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh and full of flavour. A special thanks to Sapna for her friendly service and lovely attitude—she made the experience even better. Highly recommend!
We came for lunch and ordered the Thali Lunch special. It was really nice and very generous. It comes with your choice of 3 curries, rice, papadum, naan, raita, pickle and dessert. I loved the selection available and everything was delicious and fresh.
