I’ve been going to Mitran Da Dhaba for years, right back to the days when I only knew them from their Blacktown restaurant. I recently came across some old photos in my gallery from one of those visits and it brought back some really good memories. The food was great back then and, after all these years, I still enjoy it. Their Punjabi-style curries have always been the main reason for me to come back. Rich, full of proper desi flavours and the kind of food that feels much closer to what you would expect from a dhaba in Punjab rather than a typical modern Indian restaurant. There’s a good range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, along with tandoori breads, and it has always been a good place to visit with family or a group when everyone wants a proper Indian meal. What I particularly remember about the Blacktown restaurant is the whole atmosphere. The rustic dhaba-style interiors, colours and little details around the place really added something to the meal. It wasn’t trying to be a fancy fine-dining restaurant, and that was actually part of its charm. Sitting there with Punjabi food on the table genuinely gave me that feeling of being somewhere back in Punjab. For someone who understands what a traditional dhaba is supposed to feel like, the ambience and the food worked really well together. It made the visit about more than just eating a curry and leaving. Customer service has also been really good across my visits, and that consistency is probably why I have such fond memories of this place. Restaurants can change a lot over the years, especially once they become popular, but Mitran Da Dhaba is one of those names I still associate with proper Punjabi food in Sydney. Looking through my old Blacktown photos reminded me just how long I’ve been coming here. Great curries, a proper Punjabi dhaba atmosphere, friendly service and plenty of character. For me, it has always been much more enjoyable than just another Indian restaurant and is definitely a place worth trying if you enjoy authentic Punjabi-style food.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We specially came all the way from Newcastle to dine at Mitran Da Dhaba, and it was absolutely worth the trip! The food was amazing, and we had one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. The Tandoori Chicken Sizzler was packed with flavour, the Chicken Tikka Masala was rich and delicious, and the naan was fresh and perfectly cooked. Every dish was prepared with great quality and authentic taste. The service was excellent, and the staff made us feel very welcome throughout our visit. Thank you to the team for providing such wonderful food and hospitality. We highly recommend dining in at Mitran Da Dhaba and look forward to visiting again soon! 😊🍽️

All-time favourite… my favourite Tandoori Chicken and Paneer tikka is awesome. Especially the Blacktown branch has maintained the taste since so many years. The staff is awesome 👍🏽

I had a very disappointing experience at Mitra Da Dhaba. We spent around $200, but unfortunately, the food did not meet our expectations. The cheese naan was burnt, and the regular naan was doughy and seemed undercooked/raw. The chicken was dry and did not taste good, and the curry had very little flavour. The kebab was dry. Overall, the food lacked quality and taste, especially considering the amount of money we spent. For a $200 meal, we expected much better quality and a more enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the food and would not recommend it based on our experience.

We enjoy coming here. Everything about this place is beautiful. The food the vibes and the service. We came here yesterday for the first time and as a foodie I am hard to impress, i loved the food!! Thanks chefs! We are back here this morning for Thalis and yumm!
