cocktails were excellent, beef carpaccio and beef ragu were the standout dishes of the night. the bread we were served was fluffy and warm, we loved the calamari and the tiramisu as well. the steak was a little overcooked for us but good flavour regardless, burrata and cacio e pepe were okay. the potatoes were piping hot and cooked in duck fat (?) which was lovely. the house red was delicious and the service was really great, thank you x
What Funkatello has to offer is a combination of delicious and authentic Italian dishes, a nice selection of wine and really nice and friendly people! The ambience was nice and rustic and close knit. Really enjoyed the rose wine which was crisp and dry but at the same had such beautiful taste and bouquet. The bucatini amatriciana and the cotoletta were both excellent! Bistecca was good though some parts were not evenly cooked it still did the job of a delicious steak. The tiramisu was balanced and authentic, worth a try!!
We made reservations for the spritz-o-clock and were promptly seated. We enjoyed the cocktails and the delicious appetizers. However, we had no clue that our main meals (bucatini all'amatriciana and spaghetti carbonara for my husband) were going to be the star of the show. Everything tasted so fresh and every bite was something I wanted to savor. We’re bummed we went here on our last night. Delicious & highly recommended. I will be dreaming of this meal for years to come.
Best Italian spot in sydney if you want something affordable, yummy and still a super cute date night vibe!! Have been multiple times and never been let down. Service can be slow sometimes on busier nights but only if you order multiple courses. FUNKATELLO SPRITZ IS A MUST ORDER!! My fave cocktail ever and super cheap if you go during happy hour 😁 Pasta is on the saltier side so wouldn’t recommend if you aren’t a fan of salty food, but the starters and sides are all perfectly seasoned 🩷 For sure book if you are going between Fri - Sun because it gets very busy !
Funkatello is amazing! It's feels like you're in someone's house, really unique and authentic Italian vibes. The pasta was unbelievable, we had the carbonara, Ragu and prawn tagliatelle. The king prawns were enormous! The focaccia was also amazing. Couldn't fault it, super reasonable as well. 100% will be recommending and returning, just make sure you get a booking as it does get really booked up!
