Despite its appearance from the City West Link, Grappa Leichhardt is a lovely, ambient restaurant once inside. The food was very good overall and the wait staff attentive, although the olive oil and balsamic was oddly taken away while we were still eating the bread. The oysters were fresh and the calamari fritti enjoyable but a little heavily coated and lacking crunch. The pizzas were absolutely delicious and the swordfish was pleasant if slightly thinly cut. Desserts were excellent but quite expensive.
Was recommended by a friend to give this place a go and I am glad I did. Service was excellent and every dish tasted good. With had: Burrata with nduja Kingfish tartare Crab pasta Prawn pizza Each dish was served one at a time which ensured we could enjoy pasta at its al dante state and pizza when it was fresh. They apparently have opened a branch at the rocks as well. (Menu may be slightly different as is pricing)
A great place creating the perfect setting for a special evening. Every dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, full of flavour. The staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and attentive, making the entire experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. A wonderful dinner and an exceptional experience from start to finish.
A decent Italian restaurant overall. The standout was the crab pasta — beautifully cooked, well-balanced in flavour, and with a portion size that felt just right. We had originally booked outdoor seating, but quickly realised it was much warmer and more comfortable inside. The staff were very accommodating and kindly moved us indoors. The restaurant also offers a good selection of Italian wines. A nice touch was the kid’s pizza, which came in a bunny-face shape — very cute and thoughtful for children.
Amazing Italian food! The wood-fired pizza was outstanding, the pasta was delicious, and the tiramisu is a must. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and authentic flavors. Highly recommended!
