This place was absolutely packed when we visited. My friends love it here (hence our visit) and apparently lots of others share that opinion. I had three courses for $65. My wife had two courses for $55, both very reasonable prices in my opinion. I started with calamari fritti. To be honest I found it unremarkable and wished I had picked something else. For mains my wife and I had Chicken saltimbocca. On one hand, the serving of chicken was not particularly generous (I.e. small). On the other hand the flavours were spectacular. If I hadn’t been in public I would have licked the plate. However, the piece de resistance was the tiramisu. That was both superb and generous. I would return to this restaurant for that alone. As an aside, the place is noisy. My throat was sore from trying to converse here. Not a place for quiet conversations, but more for boisterous merriment.

La Cucina is hands down the best Italian food in the Shire! We had a party of 10 and every single person loved their meal. The food was delicious, full of flavour and beautifully prepared. Great atmosphere and a fantastic night all round. We can’t wait to go back!

Food (especially barramundi) and service was fantastic. Atmosphere for a Tuesday night was pretty good too. Some things were on the pricey side ($10 for sparkling water) but worthwhile going to for a celebration.

A perfect spot in central Gymea. We were excited to see La Cucina had started doing breakfast and hope they carry on with it indefinitely! The food was delicious. The avocado bruchetta in particular was a really great idea and the bread was unbelievable. Well priced too in line with neighbouring restaurants. Coffees were amazing. We've had coffee here before but this time there was something special about them. They also do some lovely fruit juices if you don't fancy a hot drink. At breakfast, we ate outside, where there are plenty of tables and many of them are covered. They also have highchairs available and the staff were very friendly. After having such a good breakfast experience, we decided to try dinner here too, and it did not disappoint! The food was all delicious, and the ability to bring our own wine made that part perfect too! Service was lovely, the interior of the restaurant was really nice, and we left already wanting to go back!

We had the loveliest night! Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten in the Shire. Our server Elka was absolutely incredible! So very lovely and helpful! An absolute credit to the restaurant. We will be back !
