I discovered this restaurant last Sunday and I’ve been three times already within a week! The quality of the meat and seafood is top-notch!! It’s fresh and very tasty!! I keep on going back to try the whole menu!!! Staff is very friendly specially the manager who makes sure we enjoy our meal.
This place absolutely exceeded all expectations and even beat the best bbq I had in Japan - Kobe and all! All the meat is proper high quality and has overtaken all my favourite spots. The charcoal is the best I have used at bbq and what you want with such high quality meat (thus the store’s name) I ordered some sushi too and it was super fresh. The eel was the best I’ve had in Australia and absolutely fresh and tasty. The sea urchin (uni) was 10/10 - the portion was larger than expected and it was far fresher than I got from the fish market in Sydney. I also ordered the skewers (the variety was great) and Wagyu ox tongue which was thick cut and just so good. The staff were also excellent and had some of the best customer service I have experienced at a restaurant. Everything came out exceptionally quick. The menu (including QR) is the first I’ve seen organised well at a bbq joint. Everything made sense and was easy to find. It’s a small thing but well placed menus make finding items trivial. I really do not know where Binchotan sources their meat and fish from but I really want to know. It has blown my mind and I have mentioned it to numerous in friends in hope they ask to go and I can stuff my face again! Being a local to the area means I will definitely be back and cannot wait! The warm interior, charcoal-grill focus, and attentive Japanese service staff create a genuine and welcoming experience from the moment you walk in. I ordered the Chicken Don, which was simple yet very well executed. The chicken was tender and flavourful, with a nicely balanced seasoning that complemented the rice rather than overpowering it. The portion was satisfying, and the overall presentation reflected the clean, understated style you would expect from a traditional Japanese eatery. A great spot if you’re looking for a relaxed izakaya-style yakiniku experience in West Ryde with authentic vibes and solid comfort food. I left feeling very satisfied.
I had lunch on a Friday and really enjoyed it. They have a lunch menu with lots of options, I choose beef bento and added the additional sushi option. My partner also ordered the $29 steak special which was super tasty, recommend.
Highly recommended, the sashimi platter is great, everything is very fresh including the oysters and sea urgent. But the skewer set is a bit average. The vibe of the venue is nice and very friendly service. There are many other dishes we want to try, will return again.
