⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing Experience – Highly Recommended! My friend Matthew recommended that I try Deck 23 Japanese, and I’m so glad he did! Matt works here and kindly reserved a table for us with a beautiful ocean view. The atmosphere was absolutely stunning — relaxing, romantic, and perfect for a special meal. I came for lunch today with my boyfriend, and we were both truly impressed. The food was delicious, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients. The cocktails were excellent — perfectly balanced and beautifully presented. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made our experience even more enjoyable. The service was smooth and professional from start to finish. Everything was excellent. Thank you so much, Matthew, for recommending this wonderful place and arranging such a lovely table for us. I live in Rockdale and will definitely be coming back again! Highly recommended for anyone looking for amazing Japanese food, a beautiful ocean view, and fantastic service. 🌊🍣🍸

Deck 23 is one of our favourite spots in Dee Why. The food is consistently fresh and there is a great variety of Japanese dishes on the menu, making it easy to find something for everyone. We've tried a number of different dishes over several visits and have always been impressed by the quality and presentation. What really sets it apart is the location. The views over Dee Why Beach are fantastic, especially around sunset, and create a relaxed atmosphere whether you're there for a casual lunch or dinner with family and friends. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the overall experience is always enjoyable. If you're looking for good Japanese food with a beautiful beach view, Deck 23 is definitely worth a visit.

We received our takeaway order, which included teriyaki salmon, gyozas, and chicken karaage. We have dined in multiple times and expected the takeaway to be equally delicious; however, the portion sizes were quite disappointing. The ‘steamed veggies’ that came with the salmon consisted of one piece of quartered broccoli head and one sliced-up piece of bok choy. For the price we paid, the portion and quality didn’t compare. They should review the takeaway prices or ensure portions are adequate

Really excellent food and beyond excellent service. Lobster tempura lettuce cups were particularly stand out for me. My partner loves the agedashi tofu. I have to say the service was really superb. The staff, even the less experienced ones, were very friendly and accommodating, even moving us to a better table (the one my partner initially requested) when whoever booked it had cancelled. Something I really loved was the communication. When we were given our menus and drinks, our waitress said she would be back in ten minutes to take our food orders. I LOVE that she took the guess work out of restaurant dining and I wish everyone did this! Also she did indeed return ten minutes later. Can’t speak highly enough of the staff in this place. Just don’t ask for the Japanese bbq sauce recipe - it’s a secret!

This place is easy to find, limited parking. Easy to book. Lots of seating with great views. Menu is large with set menu and Al la carte. Lots of options both drink and food wise. Presentation was pretty great all around. Decent pricing with good portion sizes. The food was great and I loved my whiskey cocktail. Would highly recommend.
