Ishiyama is genuinely a hidden gem located in Campsie with the most authentic Japanese dish. The owner was an ex Nobu chef! The sashimi and sushi were super fresh and their ramen was a standout! They do home made noodles in house and is the perfect dish to have during these cold winter days. Highly recommend
I have been here many times and my favourite dishes would be their range of ramen that came in flavoursome broths and premium toppings like their slow cooked rare beef slices and the smoked duck. The noodles had a good texture, made in-house. I also liked their sushi that had fresh fish and well-seasoned rice, but that wasabi just did not match the class of the other ingredients. Their hot food was decent but not outstanding. Overall, the food was good with its ramen dishes being the standout that is going to bring me back time after time. Service was minimal, mostly self-service. The eating environment was cozy, with a number of booth seats for intimate conversations. Discounts: 3% off on cash payment, loyalty program
The Tonkotsu ramen was ok. The chashu was probably better part of the bowl. Noodles were quite alright as well, I feel for me personally might've needed to be a little harder. The gyoza was alright as well nothing to write home about. Overall a decent spot if you want some Japanese food.
π Ishiyama Campsie 172 Beamish St, Campsie NSW 2194 β¨ Amazing decor β it truly feels like stepping into Japan the moment you walk in! π―π΅ Every corner is filled with cute little anime-themed details β honestly so adorable. β οΈ Careful if you go with kidsβ¦ theyβll probably want to take everything home because itβs just that cute π π π° Prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and experience. π Ramen is excellent β highly recommend the Smoked Duck Ramen. Rich, comforting, and full of flavour. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you love Japanese vibes, anime aesthetics, and good food.
Took my partner here for his birthday after seeing it go viral on social media. We had a lovely meal with fantastic sashimi and nigiri (better than restaurants near home which is close to fish markets). We were especially excited for the sashimi boat but werenβt told about the omakase experience on arrival nor was it on the menu. Despite this, great value for money and worth the trip out west!
