Nice and cosy environment, perfect for quiet dining for a group of 2-4 people. Reason for 4 stars: probably got too hyped by social media marketing, I was expecting something so great. It was delicious, but not specially delicious that I’d re-visit tomorrow. On the pricier side too and paid about $125 for a dinner for 2 without alcoholic drinks.
Had an amazing time at this Japanese spot with friends! 🍜 We tried the duck and mushroom soba, super flavorful soup, and the Jugemu Okonomiyaki, perfectly crispy and savory. Bonus, we got a traditional Japanese-style table where you tuck your legs in, so authentic and cozy. Highly recommend for anyone craving real Japanese flavors and a unique dining experience!
Outstanding, great quality Japanese food, albeit at a high price. We ate here back in March and thoroughly enjoyed the quality, authenticity, and taste of the food here. We started with the Japanese scallops ($24). The scallops were great as they were sweet and had a nice tender, but springy bite to it. It had a nice sear to it on the outside as well. The wasabi mayo had a nice creamy tanginess to it, and paired well with the scallops. 4.5-5/5. We also got the asparagus in pork belly ($22). The dish was also decent. The pork was tender and the asparagus had a nice bite to it. The salad had an enjoyable soy-citrus dressing in it, and that helped to cut through the richness of the pork. 4-4.5/5. The agedashi tofu ($13.5), was actually a highlight for me, and probably the best I’ve ever had. The tofu was freshly fried, so it had a nice crispy batter to it. The batter was also quite light which I enjoyed. The tofu remained soft and silky inside. The bonito stock had a nice savoury richness to it. 5/5. Another highlight was the jugemu special okonomiyaki ($34). The dish was a delicious savoury combination of ingredients which all worked together. The pancake mix was smooth and soft, while the cabbage inside had texture to it. The pork belly was crispy, and the seafood was cooked well. 5/5. We also got the wagyu-tama okonomiyaki ($25). This was just alright, the pancake mix was pretty similar to the special, but the beef was a little chewy. 4/5. Another highlight was the tempura soba with the cold dipping broth ($31). The noodles had a great firm, springy texture to it, and paired well with the dipping sauce. The tempura which came with the noodles were some of the best I’ve ever had. The pieces tasted fresh and were crispy, but at the same time, were extremely light and had no greasiness to it. 5/5. We also got the duck and Japanese mushroom soba with the hot soup ($30). This was another well made dish. The duck was fairly tender and the dish had a decent assortments of mushrooms. The noodles weren’t as firm and springy when cold, but still had a decent texture to them. 4-4.5/5. Overall, a great assortment of outstanding Japanese dishes. I did find the prices to be a little high, but the quality of each dish could be tasted. Overall 4.5-5/5.
Excellent handmade soba and other traditional Japanese dishes. Try the soba cold with dipping sauce. Rather pricey and decor is very dated, but excellent service and tasty food makes up for it. Lunch currently available on Saturdays only (as of July 2026) but they aim to expand to other days.
I was craving okonomiyaki so I decided to give this place a try. It honestly felt like I was back in Japan. The atmosphere was so authentic and even the interior felt just like a real restaurant in Japan. They also had kushikatsu, which made me feel like I was back in Osaka again. Everything was delicious and brought back so many memories
