i genuinely dont even think what i had could be called ramen It was more like a chicken noodle soup. The broth was boiling hot for some reason too? And the venue was also really hot, and made it all the more uncomfortable to even eat here. Sure, the bowl was huge, as everybody praises and advertises, but it was just more room for disappointment. Pretty sad experience as a local, but my fault for falling for all the ads that praise this restaurant
It's been a long time since I lived in Ashfield, and today when I returned, I discovered a beautiful Japanese restaurant here. As soon as my family walked in, we ordered the food. In the menu, you will find a variety of foods to order, more choices than in a typical Japanese restaurant. I liked the taste of the food, and the portion was large enough for me to fill up my stomach. Prices are reasonable and there is a discount if you pay in cash.
Fantastic Japanese spot in Ashfield 👏. The edamame was super fresh 🫛, the California roll was packed with toppings 🍣, and the Pork Abura Soba was full of flavour 😋, and not too spicy at all 😌. The Chicken Katsu with Curry was insanely crispy too 😮, easily one of the best I’ve had 👏. Portions were massive; I was absolutely stuffed by the end 😁. Staff were lovely 😊, and the place had a really warm, welcoming vibe 🤗.
Came once ages ago and food was really good. Visited again recently and felt like the taste was pretty average and was slightly disappointed with the salmon poke bowl. Rice was cold. Isn’t it meant to be at least room temp? Ramen tasted average.
I haven’t been to Kujira since I stopped working in Ashfield a few years ago. But I came back today and it is as good as I remembered. One of the best Karaage Chicken rice bowls I’ve eaten in Sydney. The chicken was marinated and cooked perfectly. Crunchy coating with tender meat inside and perfectly seasoned. The rice was fluffy and a generous serving. I also loved their mazesoba dishes and croquettes so I’ll have to come back again for those. Service is friendly and efficient. Definitely a place I will return to more often in the future.
