Had such a great experience at Kurumi! The restaurant has recently rebranded from Manmaruya with an updated menu, and we really enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was fresh, flavourful, and the portions were generous for the price, making it great value for money. The staff were welcoming and the atmosphere was comfortable, making it an easy spot for a casual lunch or dinner. If you’re looking for delicious and affordable Japanese food in Campsie, I’d definitely recommend giving Kurumi a visit. Looking forward to coming back to try more of the menu!

I’m giving Manmaruya Campsie three stars with a sincere and encouraging heart. This is a place that still carries memories and expectations for many people, even though it feels different from what it once was. It’s noticeable that the restaurant has changed ownership, and that change is reflected in the food. Compared to before, some of the original flavour and character seem to have faded. For long-time customers, this can be a little disappointing — that distinct “this is Manmaruya” identity is not as clear as it once was. That said, I still choose to give four stars because this doesn’t feel like a restaurant that has given up. The food is still prepared with care, and the overall quality remains good. It feels more like a place in transition — learning how to carry forward a legacy while finding a new direction. The staff remain friendly and respectful, and the atmosphere still reflects a traditional Japanese ramen shop where you can sit down and enjoy your meal calmly. These details show that the team still cares about the customer experience. I genuinely hope the new management can reconnect with what made this place special in the past, or thoughtfully build a new identity while respecting its roots. This is a restaurant that deserves encouragement, not dismissal. three stars — with hope for what it can become.

The food here is great. They're no longer called Manmaruya, it is now under another management, it is now called Kurumi. We ordered: 1. Pork Katsu Curry 2. Teriyaki Salmon Soba 3. Chicken Paitan Ramen The food are top notch, generous servings and for limited time, kids under 12 will be given free onigiris. We'll be back.

Dropped by on a Thursday evening around 7pm—wasn’t too busy, which was nice. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food came out quickly. I had the Teriyaki Light meal combo along with a ramen, and everything tasted great. A solid spot for a relaxed and satisfying dinner.

Had dinner here and was blown away! The portions are generous and the flavours taste just like being back in Japan. For the price, the quality and authenticity are unbeatable – definitely worth a visit!
