This is one of the few restaurants in Sydney that has truly won me over. The katsu is delicious, and the ingredients are incredibly fresh. Most importantly, you can really feel that the food is made by people who are genuinely passionate about what they do, which makes it very trustworthy. Every dish feels carefully prepared, with clear attention not only to taste but also to the overall quality. The staff are also very friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, making the whole dining experience deeply enjoyable. Ever since my first visit, I’ve found myself wanting to come back whenever I think of it. I hope this place continues to thrive for a long time, as it’s a restaurant that serves honest food made with great ingredients and sincere effort. Highly recommended.
The restaurant we visited after our last gathering was truly a hidden gem in there. Every dish was delicious, and the katsu was the standout—perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and full of flavor on the inside. They also have an impressive selection of sake, so it’s a great place if you enjoy trying different varieties. I highly recommend it!
We had dinner here tonight, got to the front and we were greeted and welcomed to our table, staff are very attentive and lovely. The atmosphere was great, ambient lighting and open bar scene. We were welcomed with some sake to start the night which was a lovely start. We ordered our food and it came out at a good pace same with our drinks. Food was great, everything was delicious 😋. Cocktails and sake were great, we had a very pleasant night.
Just walked by on a Wednesday and checked out Kyu who have only recently opened up. My honest review - and I’ve given a few atrocious ones over the years. Absolutely amazing. Food 10/10. Service 10/10. We will recommending to our friends and will definitely be back. Ordered the pork loin and Wagyu Katsu. So tender and coating light but crisp. Welcome shot of sake was a nice touch. Menu seems to cater to all tastes and degrees of satieity. Lunches look great too. My partner rates Kyu as “Phenomenal”. Thanks! Took us back Japan 🇯🇵
Amazing new restaurant in Darlinghurst! The food was delicious and high quality. We had the wagyu don and pork katsu don, definitely one of the best rice bowls I've ever had. The staff were lovely and the restaurant was cozy and nicely decorated. Highly recommend.
