Decent value with serving sizes and price. Fresh and delicious. Huge varied menu at this Japanese food chain: ramen, udon, salad, rice bowls, sushi rolls, sashimi, tempura, small snacks and special dishes. We could get a table when walking in for a weekend lunch. Food is reliably tasty here but there are hallmarks of a chain restaurant and whilst presentation is on point and food is fresh, it also feels formulaic rather than finessed.
The ramen was very disappointing. I ordered the pork tantanmen, but the soup was overly oily, not spicy at all, and the noodles had no firmness or chewiness. It was also served lukewarm rather than hot, and I had to ask the staff to reheat it. For a Japanese ramen place, I expected the broth to be hot, flavourful, and well-balanced, but this tasted flat and greasy. Definitely not worth the price.
Everything we got was so good. The sashimi platter was the highlight and the dry ice was a cool presentation touch. Everything was super fresh. I’ve always come back to mikazuki for their sashimi tacos, a must try.
Tried the sushi taco and it was really fresh — all the fish and ingredients were good quality, which is impressive for a taco-style dish where you’d usually expect off cuts. The red/sweet chilli-style sauce was a bit overpowering for my liking; a touch of soy sauce would’ve been perfect. Still, it was a fun and tasty twist on sushi and definitely worth trying.
i absolutely love the vibes here!! the sushi and sashimi were super fresh and super delicious!!! super cute presentation! and i absolutely love their mango matcha pannacotta, 10/10 dessert! i finished off with a hot strawberry milkis drink, it was the perfect drink to cleanse my palette! definitely recommend for any hangouts or catchups or just a lunch break!
